Why on earth was this created before we got a separate Producer's forum?
Doesn't make any sense to me.

Visual arts and stuff. I thought there was a producer's corner.

well, there is a dj/producer's corner. that's not good enough though, didn't you know that?

Well I can understand Production needing it's own seperate corner, but do you actually think a DJ forum could exsist on its own?

 talking about scratching, mixing, posting both of those and other bs

If it ended up splitting 50/50 with no increase in posting (unlikely as production and dj technique threads have been increasing recently) they would both be larger than any genre forum, but D&B.

Ummm... because there was a push made (mainly by me) to have this forum created, I sat down and made rules, and then I got the backing of a few other people to get it done.

More power to you.
I just think the need for a producer forum is more acute.

I still dont think an individual DJ forum is warrented, yes people bring up scratching, and eq and such, but its basically the same threads repeated over and over. You can only really go so far with this forum and I really dont see a need for it to be on it's own. Yes I do see why you would think production could, but I dont see the djing forum being strong enough to support itself.

With all the new dj technology coming out now, i think it's warranted. It's not just about scratching.
And having a smaller forum which is easier to search would be a bonus, not a flaw.

Well, all I can really say to that apparently they don't think there's a need/draw for that type of forum just yet. Try asking Amanda directly about it?
I understand how you must feel, but we got this creative forum fair and square - there's no need to question why it's here.

ok well then since we are at it that way how about we break down each of the genres into sub-genres as well, cause hell why do i need to look through all the house threads just to get to the style of house Im interested in. And also if you look through most of the dj/proudcer threads its not even about either really, its mostly about people who have posted their mixes in there as well as the other genre sections. If you were to break down the two and actually forced people to stop double posting their mixes, the dj/production corner would stop its growth quite abruptly. Now Im not saying that their wouldnt be any, but the traffic would be considerably less.

Actually, I think it's a really good idea, because we have a lot more productive artists and writers on the board than producers. I can think of maybe two people on this board who have written a track and posted about it, but this forum is already booming.
I like the idea of a produciton forum in theory, but it seems there aren't many producers on the board to take advantage of it.

it's not already booming, they moved all the writer's threads over. one thread a month does not a forum make.

9 threads for the month of November, and we've only had it up for a few days.

I suppose that's subjective, yeah, but there are three great threads there (meaning that people are posting in them) and the forum has existed for like, a week? Now that there is a place for non-musical creative output, we can expect to see, and have seen, more posts here. There is a place for production posts, but they don't come up very often...
The last production thread I remember getting long was the one where people were arguing, basically, "put up or shut up" when it came to music. Productive and informative as always!
Like I said, I'm all about the production forum, but it doesn't seem like there are many producers on this board.

All of the creative-geared people on the board could easily beat up the few producers.
THIS is why we have a forum.

There are plenty of forums for producers or wannbe producers out there. I hang around on a few--it's pretty typical boy wankery type stuff. Useful info also but most of the time it's just to talk shop. I think it is much better that there is a general creative forum versus having a producer's forum.

or, perchance a renaming of the Trance forum to remove the misleading misuse of the adjective "progressive"...

Here's an idea, let's get rid of all the forums, then.
