Mods- Was not sure where to put this, move it please if need be.

Emmaus Services for the Aging is a DC based organization that helps with Seniors. Every year they assemble Thanksgiving meals and deliver them to home bound seniors or seniors without family.

I have done this quite a few times in the past when I was not going out of town for the holiday. Its fun, heartbreaking, educational, and you walk away with a better appreciation.

This year they are in need of drivers. You basically bring a friend or they assign one to you, load your car, they give you addresses, you bounce around the city, visit with the Seniors. Its quite fun listening to some of them go on and on. Hear interesting stories and you may learn a thing or two.

If you are interested you need to call 202-745-1200. Ask for the Volunteer Coordinator and let her know you can deliver on Thanksgiving day.

You would get there at 10:45 for a brief orientation, deliver from 11-1, then head home.
