That is exactly how I really got into dnb in the first place. I was going through a shitty breakup, I listened to Tittsworth's Phone Check cd during a solo drive to DC and I realized how much better I felt. I realized it worked as a replacement for my anger.

i think the reason is this:
there is sappy dnb, deep dnb, dark dnb, aggressive and angry dnb..many many facets right. people hear something aggressive and remember that there is indeed a form of dnb thats connoted with anger. then they go listen to their form of electronic music, lets say, house...and they notice that theres no such thing as angry house!! so then, they dont recall the aspect thats similar between the genres, only the aspects that are dis-similar.
I mean really there's no other genre that conveys dark side like dnb does (aside from digital hardcore or what have you). Granted, theres some really driven techno out there, some grinding business...but the people that listen to that probably like dnb ;)
