Thievery Corporation has joined United for Peace and Justice to curate a FREE concert during a weekend of protest against the on-going war in Iraq. The concert will begin at 3pm on September 24th on the Washington Monument Grounds in lovely downtown Washington, DC. The concert will bring together musical acts such as: Thievery Corporation, punk rock and independent musicians Le Tigre, Bouncing Souls, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists; country music artist Steve Earle, rock and soul band the Bellrays; latin musicians Mache Tres, socially conscious hip-hop groups The Coup and Head-Roc; and even long time activists Wayne Kramer of the MC5, Jello Biafra and Greg Palast will be involved in this event.

As this is a non-profit event we need your help to make it a success.

Please donate what you can at http://www.unitedforpeaceorg/article.php?id=160

Please mark donations 'For Concert'

That's a badass genre blend. I don't like every single one of the artists, but I respect them coming together for something like this.

Pretty f*ckin' cool. And very convenient since I am like totally against the war in Iraq now. I think there is a thing I gotta go to that night but the afternoon and early evening is all mine.
