To an extent, this is true... I think another big part of it is that since many of us live so close to each other, many people are friends with each other and respect each other because they can see past the internet persona. I find that most of the people on here are very respectful, as long as you show the same respect in return and don't act like a tool.

It's been said before... how you behave on this board can actually make or break you in the local scene. I think it's great -- people don't have to deal with each others' bullshit and DJ 12345 has to actually show the same respect he/she would show these other DJs & promoters the same respect that he/she would if they were standing right in front of him/her. The people that don't do this... well... as you can see, their success in the area is usually rather limited.

i joined DOA when it was brand new, and remember seeing Fresh post about his forthcoming board on BBS. it was fun for the 1st couple of years for me, but then for some reason i completely lost interest in it. i'll post once every couple of months to find a tune, or ask a question...that's about it. not sure why i stopped going there :shrug:

BBS & dnb arena were my sources of info before DOA started.

i think its ridculous just becasue some people dont know how to use it for networking they blast all the people on there. ive scored some amazing old records impossible to find anywhere for mad cheap, met loads of awesome folks
