hey joe. got a question for ya. how difficult would it be for you to track out your mixes (rather than one big .mp3. i'm in this bizzare situation where i can't d/l files larger than like 30 megs at work due to the firewall, and i've got dialup at home. just curious....i could listen to a lot more choons if they were available in fun size pieces.

wont be difficult, but i dont have time to do that now....headed to my inspections. one in District Heights, the others in Oxon Hill and Ft. Washington.

I'll probably track this mix....put a few cds on the street.
PM me your mailing address....i'll fix you up.

this was a fun show.....definitely.

for everyone else -- mix will be available in 32 minutes.

as a side note.....I'm seeing loads of live mixes floating about the messageboard. this is a good thing. i know i've posted at least 4 live mixes in the past month...maybe more.

i think it's about time that the 11/13/2004 Sonar mix gets re-posted. for those that dont know...this is the mix with MC Twisty and me. i'm listening to the cd in the car and i couldnt help but get pumped up.

Not to brag, but as much as i love Dan & John's dubsession @ Sonar, my 5/28 mix from Sonar and Godfather Sage's June d&b mashup from Sonar....for some reason, this 11/13 mix gets me everytime.

i think everyone (and i do mean everyone) has a cd copy of this mix. it's coming soon.

it's funny you should mention that. I keep listening to this and finding new lyrical tibits of joy. one is "..or you'll get stolt in the goddamn mouth" and another is "how drunk are you when you walked in the club...you growl like a tiger, bite like a cub..you talk talk tlk but you can't back it up...". MC Twisty is a genius.

and track 18 is the best. "listen to the rythym flow...."

oh, and officer is the pwnage. I was playing it and listening to the other record in my headphones and I couldn't hear the track it's self, but I could feel the bass through the floor. this is a feat none of my other records can equal.

I'm gonna hit up that mala guy and tell him how much he and his crew rule...

MC Twisty is a genius. You know....that's the thing with that cd. There's nuggets of lyricism all over the place....

such as:

Dont let me catch you on a dark road | i spit flames joenice is ice cold | bring these two elements together | you were told but you know that's stormy weather.

The minute I finished up the set, i knew i had something special on the minidisc. I just remember going to Skylounge the next night....and people that werent @ Sonar had heard about this set. I made 10 cds...they were gone 5 minutes later. two weeks later...AMP had the majority of Twisty's lyrics memorized.

this one's definitely getting reuploaded. there are a load of people that have this mix on cd....and there's an equal number of people that may not have heard this set.

How cool is track 10 when i shouted: "Hey halleujah" and everyone else chimed in with, "whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa !" that's one of the many reasons why i love this mix so much. it sounds LIVE. it's the next best thing to actually being there. you can hear crowd noise...people chatting in the background....girls screaming...ravers whistling after the reloads.....people bigging me up while i'm mixing. I'm real pleased with the way this mix turned out. the tunes....the mixing....it was one of those nights.

you can even hear me say the following:
"You can trainspot all you want brother !!! "
"Bassline for you right here....here it comes."
"turn the cell phones off....we're vibrating all night long."

the majority of those tunes are still floating around on dubplate.

This cd is gonna get some serious play this weekend. this...and all my Luther Vandross cds. I still cant believe he's gone. (http://www.buzzlife.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60394)
and track 18 is the best. "listen to the rythym flow...."
yes yes....Big tune !!! MarkOne - Can You Dance. that bassline is mad !!!
oh, and officer is the pwnage. I was playing it and listening to the other record in my headphones and I couldn't hear the track it's self, but I could feel the bass through the floor. this is a feat none of my other records can equal.
Here's the thing....there's tunes that Coki has that are bigger than Officer. Shit...I think "Moods" (the tune on the flipside) is bigger. Remember the Mystikz mix from BBC radio? (http://www.buzzlife.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58885&page=1) Both of the Coki tunes on that mix (well, at least Haunted) are bigger than Officer.

that being said....Officer is the shit.
I'm gonna hit up that mala guy and tell him how much he and his crew rule...Do it man !!!! he'd love to hear from you. I spoke with him last week and he was telling me that there was a line out the door @ BlackMarket Records for DMZ 004.

I know DMZ is going on tonight...wish i could be there, but I'll be there in september.

i'm proud of them. they've made their own path, they're getting their props...and it's well deserved. i'm just happy to be a part of it.
