If I get extreme low latency memory, do you think 1 GIG of RAM is enough?
Also, any ideas for a SATA HD?

More ram the better.
I'd get 8 gigs on a dual 2.5 ghz g5 if I could afford it.

"Allenstein" monster machine, supposedly runs 32 VSTis with tons of plugins, inside Protools using only 1 gig of superior quality RAM. hmmm. I will prob just buy 1 gig and buy another if I need it.

Look at it this way... You can never have too much RAM. I'd say start with 1G and expand from there as you see fit.
As for SATA drives, I trust ONLY Seagates. Very quiet, fast, and dependable. I just got two of the 300GB models for my G5 and they're swell. 7200RPM is as fast as you'll likely need.
