If I'm nothing in your world then you wouldn't whine like a small child to any ear that will listen complaining about me being hard on you when in fact you lack the ability to follow simple rules on a message board in concerns to promoting your party. You also wouldn't have posted the above which I can't really figure out what you're saying because I don't have a 3 year old in the room to translate it.

Makes me wonder if you can't follow simple guidelines that everyone else has no problem in following just how organized you are in other aspects, like this party itself. I hope your event goes well not only for the sake of my acquaintances that are playing at it, but also for yourself because no one likes a sketchy promoter who shows several signs of not having a single clue what he's doing.

There lies the problem, you're of the belief that i'm fucking with your crew when in reality I'm just doing my job and having to tend to constant FAQ violations that firelight has made so that your promotion for your event on this board is within the rules and also not unfair to the other promoters.

It's this false belief that you has voicing your dislike of me because it's much easier to blame someone else then admit that you simply can't comprehend a simple guideline system in concerns to our thread titles for events. A simple guideline system that every other promoter has adhered to without complication might I add.

As I said before, I wish you the best of luck with your event, but if you are going to promote it here, then you are going to follow the rules like everyone else.

maybe i read into this a lil deeper than anyone.
BUT here are some thoughts

Significance

The wide open field (those of you who were at the first one know what the landscape is like at this place)

Alice- everyone there was in for one hell of a musical journey into very strange terrtory.

The caterpillar- Brian, offered us some insight on the way HE thinks a party should be ran(thanks)

the pills (which kinda look like coins, but for the sake of my analysis..)- Alices journey started with a pill. in this case it is not a physical pill that you will take, but instead you will take this pill aurally. the music will show you just how deep this rabbit hole really goes.

The alice in wonderland concept- Alice is a fairy tale, much like the scene that we all wish for (you know the one from back in the day that we constantly wish for), Castaway in itself is a fairy tale because i think it truly captures the feelings/vibes of a scene that seems almost unattainable with the way things are today.

maybe im corny, but these are things that kind of jumped out at me.

All she needs is your dj name and your comps names. she promises to get back to you as soon as she adds you and your comps to the list. They won't be anything great, she just thought it would be nice for you guys.

dont know if theyre pills or not..lemme get one thing str8, and we have been very adamant about this fact from the beginning, firelight DOES NOT and IS NOT endorse or tolerate drug use of any kind. read the post. we are all grown ups and know that some things in a party-type scenario are going to happen(that are beyond our control). :cracksmoker: point in case: take buzz for example, they do their best to truthfully and honestly enforce a zero tolerance policy, but i challenge anyone to name me one night theyve ever been to nation and not seen someone breaking these rules. that doesnt mena they endorse it because if they became clued in to the activities then something would be done (at least one person gets thrown out of nation every week, prolly more, i dont have the exact #'s). expect the same level of enforcement and dedication to a zero tolerance party when you attend a firelight event. come out have a good time, be there for the music and not just because it seems like a good place to get away with certan activities. the flyer is an advertisement for the party... the message conveyed through the flyer then has a very real effect on the perception of the party by those who receive it... so if you handed me a flyer with a bunch of people shitting n each other's head... no... that doesn't mean I'm going to think its DIRECTLY about shitting on other people's head... but I, as a potential attendee, AM going to draw a correlation based on that when deciding if I want to attend your party or not...

beyond that... the promoters of this event have potentially fucked themselves with this flyer (which is more what blew my mind about it)...

why?

consider this:

one - law enforcement happens to see flyer... they say 'hmmm.... looks like it could be a haven for drugs...' this begs for the cops to show up en masse to bust the party up.

two - even if they DONT see the flyer... if, somehow, cops show up and make significant busts... you can be DAMNED sure the state's going to end up with a copy of the flyer somehow and turn the case into a bigger case against the promoters citing the flyer as evidence...

and just for the record contrived as it may be it was a genuine thought that i felt like sharing with those interested in the party.

I'll agree, Spiggy's an ass. But he does bring up a good point. Whether or not the picture on the flyer is of coins or pills, it all flows to what people's perception is. I personally thought that they looked like pills the first time I saw the flyer, and I guarantee that law enforcement officials would feel the same way. I also personally think that anyone that needs to take illegal substances to have a good time is a complete fucktard, but I know that a lot of people do, and law enforcement looks upon those people rather negatively, not to mention people associating with them.

I'm still planning on making it out next weekend, because I think the music and vibe will be great, but as I've said in other posts regarding this party, I would do things differently if I was running it. Being that I'm not running it, I'll come out and have a good time with my friends, and hope to hell that nothing bad happens.

Everyone needs to remember that ths party is happening in the middle of bumble-foockie. Nobody will be complaining about noise and it is on private property. The last few house parties I've spun at, police came at the door and it was clear what was going on, they just said to turn the music down. Besides, once they hear firelight rockin it in the main room, they'll probably get changed into their little raver space outfits and join the fun!

The vibe was great - a little cold then, but there shouldn't be that problem this time, and once I started dancin there wasn't a problem at ALL!!

I think it is great that we were invited to come back!! I think it is great that they are opening this up and telling people about it! It IS on private property -- out in BFE - but we found it fine!! There was parking and good planning, good people, good music -- unless you went last time, kinda hard to throw a rock@ a party you know nothing about - I would think.

Of course, everyone learns from previous parties thrown. It is a total learning experience. I give these guys BIG props!! People need to think outside the box every once in awhile - try something new, different, unique. I personally get tired of going to the townhouse party with the home stereo going and police banging at the door until everyone leaves!!
