and by this I mean:

you have a record that's hot shit... you play it a lot... you love it... you've had it for months (maybe even a year), you just can't think of retiring it... until one day... you're perusing through your daily mailings from your online record shops... and there you see it... that uber-cheesy label put out a remix of it... not even the mix you're playing... but at that moment... you walk over to your records... open up your bag... pull it out and put it in a dark corner of your record shelving?

I just learned that mine's Ultra... Not that they typically release shit in my bag...

but they certainly picked up on one track!

bastards!

i can't say that i've had that experience, ed. of course, i've always prefered to play original mixes when i can get my hands on them.

I don't prefer to play any mix... except the mix that's "good"

I've heard crap songs turned into amazing dancefloor killers cause a talented producer got his or her hands on it...

i dunno i think i've always just liked the challenge of molding the inherently original sounds of each producer's work into a cohesive mix. i think you might understand what i mean, if anybody here does.

no I get that... I mean... if the original is good... then yeah... I'll try to find a way to make it work, even if it doesn't readily seem like it would...

but I'm just saying I don't prefer any mix by nature of it being the original or a remix... more just the way that particular mix sounds :)
