I, too, have experienced the DJ drink queue phenomenon, especially on NYE, where I literally had 4 RBVs lined up that turned into 10 the next time I turned around... I guess people, deep down, wanna hear sloppy mixing and 5-10 trainwrecks per transition and asinine track selection when they go to a club... What's especially nice is a DJ that skips his own records as he stumbles around the booth... Good times... Not that any of that...actually...happened...I definitely gave most of those drinks away...uh...yeah... :ontome:

heh... pretty much universally speaking, most every DJ I've ever encountered will tell you that he spins better drunk that sober...pretty much universally speaking, most every DJ that's ever said this is flat out kidding themselves... I can see how a drink or two might relax you and make you take more chances that result in a mind blowing set, but piss drunk? Bad juju... Being one of the DJs that has actually said this to people, I'm embarassed to admit that I only discovered the truth of the matter when I happened to be home tying on one and "spinning" (note the quotation marks) where I was recording my "set"... OMG... Lesson learned... So, while I did, indeed, get straight up tanked after my set (using the aforementioned queue of RBVs), happily, I was able to avoid most of the catastropic ill effects of Drinking and DJing through limited consumption...

Well, Spiggy really got me bumping at the start of his set, and then again at the end of his set. I think it's really great how he gets so into his music...although it is slightly frightening that he knows the words to every single one of those tracks that he played last night. Ian kept right on from there, and I personally think he spun the best set of the night...it was the one that got me dancing the most, at least.

As always, it was nice to see all the friendly faces out there and getting to hang with you folks. You really make it all special.

My one rant for the night is why people continue to buy drinks for other people who are obviously beyond the point of drunk. Respect and responsibility, what? It's one thing if it's someone's bday and they want you to get them plastered to the point of alcohol poisoning, but it's a completely other thing when the person just needs to stop drinking because they can't stand up straight and someone is still putting drinks in their hands. So yeah, Jenn needs to take some upholstery cleaner to my car today, and I'm really not happy about it. Sleeping on the bathroom floor isn't cool, either! :shakesfist:

so much talent saturday night! I had a blast and danced till they kicked us out. Thanks to Charly for the d&b goodness through the wee hours. You reminded me of my early days at buzz when I'd set up camp in the front room and not leave till 3am. ;)

Ian, your set sounded like robots having sex. Heaven is a place on earth.

Finally hearing "Push It" play through the speakers at Transit and not just in my head... I don't know who dropped that (I think it was ed?) but it really really made my night and caused an small uproar among the people who got the joke.

Transit looked beautiful and the lights and sound were perfect. Plus Transformers in the background... ungh it hurt so good.

Well actually I missed it for Icey, Joe, and Imri... They were all up there!! I went with my super bestest knew boyfriend, Mike (i.e. www.dungpow.com) and he was taking pics for his website, so we got up on stage and I got to officially meet all of them. Yeay!!! What a great fucking time. I couldnt have asked for a better night. But I still felt bad about missing this fantastic party :crying2: Oh well I'd still say its the only thing id miss a give pro. for sho! So :kick: !! Just joking Downs.
