I wonder who this was? Also, being a Dj/Producer this guy should have respected the fact that these artists should be paid for their work. Unless of course, these tracks were given to him, but the tone of the article does not give that impression.

it could have been a non-EDM DJ as well. either way, if you're making money off the tunes, you should certainly be paying for 'em.

how the hell did they find out he was using illegal mp3s? He prob pissed somebody off who ratted him out. Mauro Picotto perhaps?

What if he had bought the records and had digitized them to use in Traktor or something similar? I guess this is an instance where having vinyl would have been the way to go.
