i wonder if they finally updated the sound quality of the program.

I liked the possibilities in Reason, but the sound quality was digital
and lacked the clean sound of cubase and logic.

Of cos it sounds digital! Its software! But agreed Cubase and Logic sound much butter. HOWEVER, rewire Reason into cubase and see how it sounds :)
I plan on using combinator as a VST instrument inside of Cubase

i hate to break it to you, but cubase and logic are digital.

I think he meant it *sounded* digital--cold and brittle. Digital (some digital filters for example) can manage to sound warm and lush. Typically, they are those that are made by real music companies.

Reason 3 sounds cool (the 30 minute demo on sonicstate was hot) but the price is too high.

thank you for the update.

note the comment on clean sound quality.
the lack of proper VSTi and DXi wrappers also diminishes Reason.

well my hope is that reason 3's sound quality is improved, especially with the mastering features, that should definitely help with the finished product. reason is still my favorite program to use to make just about anything.... though i feel that with the addition of ableton live, my software suite would be complete. somebody should really start packaging them together. that'd be a wonderful idea.

mebbe you got the rep for advocating stealing software that you have no intention on paying for in the future

why do you think this shit costs so much?

In respect to the buzz comunity, I'm refuse to hijack this thread arguing about my feelings on stolen software.

Nuff said.

To whomever left that anon reputation. :fuckoff:

I paid $0 for 2.5, and I'll probably pay the same for 3.0
those were my exact words......
you got the wrong idea man. I wasn't saying that I stole it. I was saying I used my friends copy and never got good at it, so I won't get the new version. I used to make cracks for programs with a hack/crack group back home, but now I see that it is very wrong. Haven't made or used a crack in years.

oh yeah, and whomever gave me neg. rep........:fuckoff:

I think Props are horrible at making demo songs. Their demo tunes sound so amateur. Not doing justice to what CAN be done in Reason. Anybody agree?

That was me, by the way. You can explain your post away if you like. But what you said either said you stole software, or meant to imply it.

I had nothing to do with liquidice though. But obviously, using stolen software sucks, not only for the software maker, but also for the user. Typically, stolen music software does not get much use. Easy come easy go.

I think the trend in music software will be lower prices and more competition with the well-known sequencer makers. Traktion 2 is a good example of this. Great software with tons of good plug-ins for $199. At that price, more will be likely to pay for it because of the support, etc.

I fully agree...athough I am new to the producing side of things, so my stuff probably sounds that amatuer too...lol

Like they say, it's the musician, not the instrument.
