given that Vince Clark is pretty well a god of electronic pop (Erasure, Yazoo, and a short stint with Depeche Mode) and I've loved Erasure for as long as I can remember... can I say that I'm excited? oh yes I can!
it's not listed on the 930 club site yet... but I've got my tickets already!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :eddie: :bounce: :bounce:

Is it your first time seeing them live Spiggy? You are in for a treat.
We saw them (for the first time live) at 9:30 about a year ago when they came to promote the last album (Other People's Songs). It was a helluva show. Andy's voice is really really good. And he had so much energy and there were tons of costume changes. The crowd was good too, a good mix of gay, old farts that liked them from the 80s, some party kids, some general synthpop freaks, etc. It was a good vibe. I am not as big a fan of theirs as I am PSB's. And PSB shows have more production value (more money put in them!) but Erasure had a lot of energy. My girl didn't know much about them before and she's become a fan since the show--more than me.
I may get tix to this again, specially since it's on a weeknight. I appreciate the heads up.

I didn't get tickets for the last show in time, so I was rather upset to find them sold out when I went to buy them... but I remember them being quite a bit more expensive... they were 75 bucks a pop... this time only $40... have you heard the new album yet? I was disappointed overall with Loveboat... but I've heard good things about the new one.

I have seen them live twice, once was back in 91 at GMU art center and the other time was at AU. I have never been a big fan of poppy side of synthpop ie Erasure, PSB and such. Even though I am not a fan, I still enjoyed the shows very much. Tons of costume changes, it is like watching a play. So if you're a big fan, then it's not to be missed.

I don't remember the tix costing that much. I think maybe they were around 30some, but no matter. I did not hear Loveboat. The self-titled album that came out in the mid-90s was my favorite for a looooong time. I didn't get into Cowboy either.
Other People's Songs is the one I have after Erasure. The show I saw was to promote for OPS. They did a couple of acoustic songs at the end as well which were very very beautiful. I think they will do acoustics for this one in May as well. I was mostly just shocked at the amount of energy Andy had on stage--I thought he'd just explode or something. They were very cool to the crowd also--they just gave it all they had.

the self-titled is often under-appreciated... and I think it's just a remarkable album... so I can appreciate you finding that to be your favorite... :)
