zippo.... just happened to see this on the sonar calendar.
should be hot, nonetheless. and with an ALL day event, there should be tons of performers.

speaking of armory parties...

i developed an old roll of film over the weekend, and it turned out to be pictures from one of them... revolution i think.

they're amusing to say the least.

the surprise of old pictures is one of the few things i miss about non-digital cameras.

Has Ultraworld ever put up a sorry line up for their massive events? This should be very interesting to see as it unfolds...

hell yeah :raveon:

but the armory was a way better venue than sonar. not to bash sonar but.. i mean c'mon... the armory just kicked way too much ass. words cannot describe.

when i see a lineup, i'll decide ;)

Shakey
2005-02-01, 04:06 AM
no, im really asking. what is the armory? i know the armory is where they keep weapons for the military....but they wouldnt throw a party with fully automatic weapons all over the place.....so it must be something else.

baltdnb
2005-02-01, 04:32 AM
Its the dc armory, next to RFK stadium. Weapons were stored on the roof and in stairwells durring Ultraworlds parties there, or atleast thats what i hear.

The way the scene is now its hard to imagine they threw parties in the Armory.
I went to Engage and it was the shit.

I'm curious to see the line up for this party.

I would say little to no chance.... The posting is on the Sonar site, not the Ultraworld site... plus, the supposed Armory party from last fall didn't ever happen.

That should be a good time, and I think I'll enjoy getting off work and going right into partying, very nice indeed. Hopefully the weather will cooperate if they're going to put anything outside. I'm thinking the top of the parking lot up there would be entertaining at least.

whoa.

i just checked sonar's site and they have a full lineup and a flier posted online

a flier which states this is an ALL AGES event

count me out

i don't have any desire to see 13 year olds trying to get their rave on in various disturbing ways. i refuse to go to any all ages event, ever since i went to the hfstival in 2000 and saw little girls who could not have been more than 12 years old.. clearly f'd up on certain substances raving by the buzz tent. grossest site EVER /pukes

I was at work the other day and saw a 12-13 year old ask her mother for a smoke and her mother gave it to her. Then they sat down next to me and I had to hang out there for like 5-10 minutes watching a 13 years old smoke a cig. For some reason that hurt me...

As the mother of a 12 yr old & a 16 yr old.. I have to agree w/ that being a sad sight indeed. I'll take my daughters w/ me to an event but they know the rules:
No taking anything from anyone you don't know even if it's "just" water!
My girls have been to concerts/parties at Sonar, Bohager's, & many smaller pubs in Fells Point/B'more. Luckily we know (or knew in the Bohager's case) the owners & staff at these places which takes a lot of worry off me. Most importantly though... I'm there w/ them. I think it's a parent's responsibility to educate their kids to the right way to enjoy yourself when at a party. And taking certain substances certainly isn't it! I'll be taking my girls to the Daylight party since I know over half the people playing & I think they'll totally enjoy it! It's a shame other parent's irresponsibilties have ruined it for you, but I totally understand where you're coming from.

^ Just for the record, I am not against responsible parents bringing their kids to events, so long as you're planning to supervise them and keep them out of harms way.

I just don't want you to misinterpret my previous post and think I'm saying anything negative about your parenting skills :)

sprklqueen
2005-03-25, 10:36 PM
Not at all! didn't take it that way in the least!
I was making the point that it IS the parent's responsibility & I think it's a shame that kids do go to things unsupervised & get themselves involved in things they're just not ready for.

Ok just to let everyone know, new bathrooms will be open to accomodate for ayayay large ammount of people, and no, food services will not be available. And no they are not port-o-potties. ayayay max capacity for Sonar is 2000 people, arrive early cause space is limited!!!! Better yet, pre-order your tickets now and not worry about not being able to get in!!!
