Not for the faint of heart or stomach.
The link below goes to photographs of what US tax dollars did to the people of Falluja. You may want to bear witness to these unbelievably horrific pictures. There is no way all those dead children, women and old men are "insurgents."
I normally would not post this sort of thing. But this war is not really being covered by the US press. And I feel it is important for us to see what war really is.

Holy crap.......that is truly horrific.
these pictures mean nothing as to the conduct of the war. If anything, these pictures equate to enemy propaganda, so soften the hearts of the american people. to get them to losesupprt for the war... yeah, i said it. you can look at this all day long and you still will have no clue as to what war really is.
the pictures arent covered by the media for a few reasons.
1. everyone will start screaming how the sky is falling
2. everyone will start speaking of the apocalypse/antichrist, etc.
3. the pictures dont tell the story, only forensics can.
4. over 200,000 people managed to evacuate with a very loose window of time. this gave the military leeway to use an open ROE.
5. urban operations area 360 degree fight. houses are nothing more than fighting positions and terrain.
6. bombs cannot "malfunction" if there is a kid or woman or innoent man in its trajectory.
7. bullets go both ways.
8. collateral damage is a fact of life.
the saddest part is that the same people who hate the US when looking at pictures such as these, are the same people who look at our injured troops with contempt and still have the audacity to condemn the role of our government.

These people mean nothing as to the conduct of the war but they are still people. Last time I checked, we as humans felt empathy for others of our own kind, no matter what colour their skin might be or what side of the war they're on.
This is truly horrible - it is the war in all of its unscripted glory, and that's all there is to it. War means death. How can you look at those pictures and tell any of us that we have no clue as to what war really is?

If we didn't start pointless misguided wars the pictures wouldn't exist in the first place.
Frankly, I'm sick of hearing that Collateral Damage is a fact of life b.s. It's easy to say that when it isn't your shit getting blown up. If seeing pictures of the horror that war creates takes away your resolve for it, than you probably shouldn't have been supporting it in the first place.
Specially considering most of the people who created this war, never had to go shoot anyone themselves, instead paid or used political clout to not have to go to war, while thousands of others went and died, but now try to play war. Those are the ones who have no clue what war really is.

Come off it, I'm so sick of this utter bullshit that people like you keep coming with. "If you've never been in a war, you have no place to talk about it," "If you don't support the war, then you want the troops to die," etc. The government line on civilian casualties is a lie, so don't bring that up in here.
Bottom line is, supporting this war means supporting the deaths of (at least) tens of thousands of people, both Iraqis and Americans. If you think those deaths are justified, so be it, but that doesn't change the bottom line.
Deathmonger - I meant that people take these pictures at face value only. Thats why they dont understand. It was poorly worded and I stand corrected, thanks :-)
Risk vs Reward, Agent.
My position is that in the end, its worth it.
And Bizzarro? That argument is tired and misguided. Without touting machismo, I will submit to you that I have been on the receiving end of this fight. I was injured multiple times. I know what this is like. Now having said that---
Collateral damage is a fact of life.
(sad? yeah Do we take measure to limit it? yes)

One of my old friends from HS is a gunner in Falluja and heard that he's killed over 60 people. That was months ago.

This is how the American Way must begin in 3rd world nations governed my their own ignorant peoples. Don't you agree that it is our JOB as Americans to support the propagation of our culture to the farthest reaches of the earth?! Don't you all understand that we must destroy any and all potential enemies BEFORE they mount for attack if they are a threat to our ways of life in the least?! What is so hard to understand that these sorry humans had no freedom without our intervention?!??! The mere fact that the very first seat of civilization started in this place in which we are now revitalizing and upgrading culture means little compared to the LIBERTY and FREEDOM we shall impose upon them. A civilizations age means nothing when its basis of existence is so diametriacally opposed to our own. Even if it co-exists at the time being with us on this earth, there is truly no room on this earth for any people of any measurable power to exist simultaneously with us and not be under our control.
Thanks for your support Iran and Pakistan please understand you are both on the list as well, however.

I don't need to see pictures of innocent people being affected negatively by this whole thing to know I don't agree with it.

I could not agree more ... it is the harsh reality of war ....
playing devils advocate though, hypothetically speaking that the war was never a last resort, these people would not be in harms way, surviving between the U.S. soldiers bullets and insurgents bullets.... but at the same time they would still be succombing to Saddam's tyranny, and the bitter reality of submission or abuse even death.....
Life as an Iraqi in the 21st century has seemingly been one of the hardest and most difficult positions on earth, and I wholeheartidly feel for these people in every way possible.

We've already killed more Iraqi's than Saddam would have in another decade, I think.
and fwiw, there's no reason to believe that any of the victims in these pictures were lives taken directly by Coalition troops...

That's a good point. But the fact is that the United States started the war. And the United States is responsible for all that happens.
If you enter my house and put a knife to my child's throat and I shoot you, the court won't find fault with me. Because you started the trouble.
This mess in Iraq needs to end already. I can not understand how the American government is getting away with so much murder and destruction right now. $5 billion a month for what?
Having said that, f*ck all Sunni terrorists for real.

the one thing that is definatly is - NEEDLESS.
so, IMHO, it should be stopped.
there are many factors that lead to this, i dont really need ONE to blame. i just want people to see what is happening, no care what started it, and simply want it to stop.
once the killing ends, then we should debate why it started and ways to prevent it from happening again.

Have you ever thought of the fact that the people who make decisions to support or not support these wars and ultimately dictate public policy should have a real grasp of what war is and what it leaves behind rather than an abstract concept? It doesn't matter what side of the ocean or even partisan aisle you sit on. War is horrific and you should have a real graphic knowledge of what it is before you visit it on other countries.
weeee... pull out everyone today and watch the millions die in the ensuing civil war and the influx of terrorist elements. We shouldn't have been there in the first place, but pulling out now is lunacy... Until there's stability in the country, you're basically condemning the populace to a fate worst than anything you--or they--have ever imagined...

And what was the search for WMDs? Was that not the administration's sole reason for going to war? Wouldn't you call that propaganda?

This is absolutely true. I just hope that in the wake of the war, those whose decision it was to go to war are held accountable. But that is a utopian ideal, and we saw how short the attention span of the general American public is when we switched focus from Osama and Afghanistan to Saddam and Iraq. It was a magic trick worthy of Copperfield.
You know what, I really hate thinking about politics right now. I need a cigarette.

And KDS, after reading what you wrote, I think you're a little confused about where people are standing on this. Speaking for myself and from the way I'm reading most other posts, I do not condemn the soldiers who inflicted these wounds, collateral damage is a fact of war. But war does nto have to be a fact of life, so I DO blame the government that made this war happen.
And I dread the day when my friends and family come home and I have to see the pain in their eyes from the shit they had to go through while they were over there. I already have one member of my family who will never be able to stand up straight, he has shrapnel lodged too close to his spine for it to be removed. It gives me chills when I think of how different he is now from 3 years ago. My issues have much less to do with my tax dollars going to a war I don't believe in, and much more to do with my concern for the humanity my countrymen lose every time they are forced by some pompous-ass politician that has never been at the receiving end of a violent confrontation - into taking another human being's life. It just saddens me.

True but right now, war is a fact of life. Regardless of how much one mightbe for or against it, its occurring. In this light, we must stand by the war effort in at attempt to end it. Lets bash the process once the main fight is over.
