"Right wing scum, your time has come," read a banner at a march of about 200 anarchists heading toward Pennsylvania Avenue, where the inaugural parade was scheduled in the afternoon.

hey...the anarchists certainly don't speak for us liberals on the whole, i assure you.

politically, anarchists are much more closely aligned with the far-right doctrines of laissez-faire, etc., which is what makes this more comical than most anything else...

someone should beat those anarchists up and take their banner. the irony would be sublime.

there's a huge difference between not wanting big government and not wanting government at all ....

anarchists would also deny being in any way more closely aligned to any form of political party, that defeats the whole purpose of their movement .... doesn't it ?

Kips and Pips and pops and perk
Jives and hives and smirks and quirk
things that blur and things that whirr
marshmellow kittens hit the earth

dine and wine and things devine
hippty hoppy turpentine
knowing you're a halfway cup
throwing backward looking up
Pops and locks and ticks and Tah's
gooves and mooves grandfather clause
orbital mushrooms spin in place
hats run over the human race

Kiss and pimps and pops and Kirk
jives and knives and quirks that smirk
things that hurt and kings divert
marsh-mallow kiddies hit the earth

a fun huge banner we saw a bunch of hippie anarchists carrying down the street said (i believe i have this right): "republicans kill trees".

yes, you read that right. republicans kill trees, folks, better watch out for that crazy shit.

republicans kill trees? What does that even mean!!! EVERYONE kills trees if they live in a house made of anything other than concrete!! Maybe that means that democrats and libertarians live in igloos? Or perhaps they sign those bills on rock tablets? Niiiiiioooooce.

Further irony would be them calling the cops and then taking you to court ;-) :sillyme:

I've always thought it would be cool if I could live in an underground concrete bunker. the only thing that would stick out of the ground would the the garage or "car hole". that would rawk, no more being woke up by :funshine:

i'm telling you it was quite a sight. we're standing in front of the dupont fudd, ready to get some tasty cheeseburgers, when bounding down the street comes a group of easily 50 people. the troupe is being led by guys wearing patchwork jeans and jester hats, and doing cartwheels in the middle of the street. the banner was behind, with a tree on it with roots making the anarchy symbol, and the group was an assortment of cliche hippie gear and anarchist drab, right down to carrying a black flag. we took pictures. calen started hollering requests for a somersault. i walked away from them and into fudd muttering "i just want to eat a cheeseburger in peace".

I went to canada tonight and I got passed by a motorcade. it was cool, I felt so in the way of important stuff. also, on the way home, I passed some parade float looking things. it was also cool.

bwaaaaaaaaaaahahahhahha i just got neg rep for that :afterbuzz:
i can't believe someone thought i was being derogatory--read the fucking story. i wasn't just throwing around the terms hippie and anarchist in a negative way, that's literally the front they were putting up. i don't think there's anything wrong with having hippie (sorry, it's the wrong generation though), anarchist, or republican leanings or beliefs; i do think it's goofy when a person tries too hard to fit some articifially constructed image of what they should look and act like. whatever, guess ya had to be there to understand. or maybe one of them is on the board. :delirious:
