I'm just getting around to posting a review of MassTransit5.
I stopped by Bridges a handful of times about 5 years ago and the place was simply riddled with Fairfax a-holes. Drinks were overpriced, pool isn't my thing and there was nothing to draw me back. The location and bar itself were cool, less a tiny bathroom.
GIVE has broken the mold in my eyes. They have helped transform an average neighborhood poolhall into an intimate EDM alternative to DC. Wednesdays promote our local scene without fail. On any given week, you can find the best of our local established talent, as well as those newbies taking advantage of their first opportunity to play out. Saturdays/MassTransits are a testiment to this crew's commitment to the local scene. The talent on the MassTransit bills is becoming mindblowing. Some of us could have expected this given the success of the Studio parties in Fairfax, but I don't think to this level. And can you imagine if jOOf starts paying compliments and recommending the party to his peers??? Buckle up and hold on, this place could become a traffic jam of mass talent! The environment is chill and the decor and lighting get better with every show!
The whole GIVE crew is welcoming and friendly, and you'll find the majority of them out for EVERY event. Andrew, LXG and Ramiro are friendly and social. You can tell they enjoy the work and its all about giving them the nod at the end of the evening. When these messageboards are constantly bombarded with negative reports from the DC nigthlife, I can't say enough how much we need to support parties and crews like this. This is the intimate location and party people have been screaming for lately, but without us patrons, it will go under like all those before it. And for all those dj's looking to make contacts, these parties are where you need to be. There are resident dj's from other parties at GIVE events all the time, TAKE ADVANTAGE!
All in all, I just wanted to say THANK YOU!
Hope everyone is having a good'ay, and if u'r not, there's always tomorrow!
Take care of each other always...BairE out!
