BREAKSPOLL VOTING IS NOW OPEN!!
We would like to thank you for your on going support here at Vinyl Towers. Now it's that time of year again....the mighty Breakspoll International Breakbeat Awards return for the 4th year running, with ever-increasing popularity!
Vinyl Addiction scooped the 'Best Retailer' gong at last years awards, can you help us do it again? Decide who comes out on top by ensuring that you vote at http://www.breakspoll.com
Here are Vinyl Addiction, also home of Finger Lickin' records, we have reminisced on the fantastic year that was and have come up with some memory joggers for you whilst you ponder your vote for each category...
BEST DJ
Jeez Louise... How to choose??? Well, take your pick really.. PLUMP DJS, SOUL OF MAN, DRUMATTIC TWINS, KRAFTY KUTS, A SKILLZ, LEE COOMBS, STEREO 8, SLYDE...
BEST PRODUCER
Ditto with above. Consistency, quality and hands-in-the-air-ability...
BEST ALBUM
How can you go past the definitive album of 2004?? It's gotta be Lee Coombs - Breakfast Of Champions.
BEST SINGLE
2004 was a bumper year for Finger Lickin'. Will it be the mega-hit "Creepshow" by the Plump DJs? "Alright/All Night"/ "Dubhead" by Lee Coombs and pals, the Drumattic Twins with their massive track"Le Funky"/"Rock Steady" or maybe the other Plump DJs bomb "Soul Vibrates"/"Bullet Train". You decide.
BEST REMIX
Ahhh! Why can't it be simple and have like only 1 choice?? Will it be the mighty Soul Of Man remix of "Creepshow" by the Plump DJs? Or perhaps Lee Coombs' massive re-work of "Lick The Frog"?? What about the euphoric Stereo 8 remix of Orbital's "One Perfect Sunrise"? Or maybe the Plump DJs rerub of the Freestylers' "Push Up".
BEST LABEL
C'mon guys - lets make it a hat trick for Finger Lickin' Records!!
BREAKTHROUGH LABEL
How's about our fabulous new label VA Breaks? Last year saw some quality releases on this label including Pod & Bowser "The Anti", Smithmonger "Buxom"/"Done Bad Things" and the more recent "In The Scheme" by the uber-talented 16 year old Daniel Taylor. Expect some more exciting release from VA Breaks in 2005.
BEST CLUB/EVENT
Gotta be Eargasm @ Fabric - consistently their busiest night and so it should be with their killer breakbeat line ups.
BEST BREAKS RETAILER
We did it before and we can do it again.. Who is the UK's number 1 store for breakbeat? Vinyl Addiction of course!
