Keepin’ the Funk Alive in 2005

After a much-needed hiatus, we realized we missed you very much and have now returned to continue to bring you the best music in the best environment. Now, we’ve switched things up a bit, Lemur Lounge will now be known as Vie de Lemur, or Long Live the Lemur and will now take place once a month, in the same location in Old Town, Alexandria. As a bonus to show how much we Love all the support over the years, we’ve deleted the cover charge and will now showcase the best of the best in funky music, artist showcases, and theme parties. The line-ups before you showcase the absolute best that Washington, DC has to offer, and not just as DJ’s, but producers and record labels. These artists represent the best, now come and show them the respect they deserve. Each night begins with a little resident life, come and relish.
Feb 4th, 2005 – TSUNAMI BENEFIT with FORT KNOX 5 {Fort Knox Recordings Record Release Party and Jon H. B-day Bash} Tonight’s Grand Opening will be extra special as SoulMonkey hosts our benefit raffle, which will include prizes. Proceeds go to the American Red Cross. To keep things upbeat we will also be giving Jon H. lots of spankings to celebrate his jump off into old manhood. Jon deserves the bestest party, so come out and enjoy the festivus with the rest of us. FK5 in ‘05 – Fort Knox Recordings will also be celebrating a new release.

April 1st, 2005 – APRIL FOOLS DAY MASQUERADE BALL with the ALL GOOD FUNK ALLIANCE {Funk Weapons Records} Tonight will host our first Masquerade Ball, come in costume or at least were a mask and see if the AGFA will shake your stuff off. Expect the best in original flavor breakbeat funk. Frank and Rusty have mentioned that a lot of unrealized tracks will be dropped tonight, so expect this night to be all-good all night! Krunk de Mayo celebrates the victory of Funky Shit over the Mediocre Club World during The Battle Of Parliament in 1862. Cosmic alignment will be in positive force tonight as the worlds of Hip-Hop, Funk, Breaks, and Beats meet to conquer the world from bland dance progressions. Krunk – You know the name, now play the game.
