I'm proud to announce that Dave Ill, in addition to performing his tag, hiphop set as part of Butcher's hill project, he will also be showing some of his graffiti.

The second addition to our February 3rd party will be: Andrew Grant, an aspiring, young artist from Georgia that is new to the DC area working on a Senate internship. Awesome artitst!! He will have some original paintings with him for the art show and also some prints of his originals for sale.

Last night Sky Lounge was bumpin’. I got there just before 11:00pm while T.E.C. was putting the finishing touches on his birthday set. There was a larger crowd then I had expected and the night looked very promising. By the time I dropped my records in the booth Dave Ill and Natas (Butcher’s Hill Project) had switched gears to hip hop. Their set was a mix of new skool and old skool, something everyone was able to relate to. During their set I was checking out the art that was being displayed around the place. There were great paintings and photography which all seemed to be getting some deserved attention from the crowd.
At midnight I started up the drum and bass with a request from the promoter in the form of Spice’s Porno Track on Back 2 Basics. I faded it out and kicked of my set with Total Science’s Defcom 69 and took it from their. It was apparent that hip hop was what the crowd wanted but for the select drum and bass heads in attendance tunes like Hazard’s World of Darkness and Sub Focus’ Soundguy set the place off. Aside from some initial monitor problems and the constant request for rap things went well. Inflictz stepped up for the 1:00am slot and closed the place out with a smooth set off dark drum and bass.

Overall “The Verse” at Sky Lounge looked to be a success. Thanks to Giovanna and Indulgent Productions for having me out. A special thanks to all my friends and fellow drum and bass lovers that came to get down.

I'd also like to send out a special thanks to Mikey, our young, sculpted model who willingly derobed at midnight for our special secret midnight show, and allowed two sexy ladies of whom I handpicked from the massive crowd to paint his body!!

Excellent art, spectacular sets of jammin' sound and smiles by all!! The party was more than a major success, Tim had an awesome birthday and everyone left a little :FUBAR:'d.

If you weren't able to make it out, we hope to see you for the next show!!!
