You're on point :)

I got a hold of a 3 disk compilation of female trip hop singers [everything from Lamb to Red Snapper], you'd dig on it. Wish there was an easy way to send it to you....

There's not a whole lot being done now in the same vein as the trip-hop/Bristol sound of the mid- to late '90s, but you might like Virgin Souls, a project of Cameron McVey's.

Actually Cam is French and he's one of my favorites.. he's trip hop but I'm not sure he fits into the Bristol sound as such. Mad Blunted Jazz is probably his best cd, I would put The Beat Assasinated as a close second.

And good lookin out DAVEILL1, I wasn't sure anyone else up here knew about Cam.

I was refering to K&D from Germany. I have been a fan of Dj Cam's music for years. I listed them because they are infuenced by the bristol sound.

Badkitty, you might like Boomclick, who are on the British label Sunday Best. They're not quite as dark as the mid- to late '90s Bristol stuff, but have a similar sensibility with regard to beats.

http://www.sundaybest.net/site/artists/details.php?id=5

I played a Boomclick track in last night's radio show. I'll be posting the tracklisting and links to the MP3 archives probably sometime today...

one of the CDs in my $100 weekend buying spree is Daddy G's (from massive attack) contribution to the DJ Kicks series. I can't stop listening to it. you should check it out.

also, a while back I got the Nightmares on Wax entry to that series and it too is most excellent.

It just occured to me.. dunno how we missed them, but Leftfield definately needs a mention in this thread. Swords is an amazing track.

Also some Andrea Parker stuff has a really good trip hop feel, although a lot of it is breaks.

tara king - th
bowery electric - lushlife
chris clark - empty the bones of you

utopia - i slept less last night

good stuff
