I think we are gonna fly down, but if we organized a Buzzlife get together down there. Maybe pick a club night and meet up there. We would all show up for that. And how cool would it be to party with some BUzzlifers all the down in Miami. So if anyone is in for a Buzz Meet in Miami, think us some ideas for locations.

yea Im stoked but the conf. it self almost lost a repeat customer this yr, had last yrs badge almost paid for itself.
i sent my application in and hear from them like 3 days later my card wont go through cause the address didnt match address on credit card. After calling them and credit card company everyday sometimes many times a day to resolve, I was sent an email telling me to pay for badgee or they would cancell my application. I feel they were unprofessional and lacked a real desire to help. @ 1 call they said it was my resposibilty to get it straight w/ card company, only to be told on next called that she thought they had called.

book hotel EARLY. The rooms book pretty quickly. I've always stayed below 17th Street on Ocean, Collins or Washington. Very close to all the action. The only thing is that Space is a trek from there, more downtown Miami. We always just hop a cab when we go. Also Ultra is held in Bayfront Park (near the American Airlines Arena) - not far from Space. Most of the other clubs and hotel parties are in SoBe. I'm not sure I'll hit up Ultra this year. I've been to this event twice and its definitely a good time but not so much of a draw for me anymore.

I'm hoping to be there from March 20 - 27. 4th year in a row, always an amazing experience :D

Too LOOOOONG! I recommend flying to Ft. Lauderdale and driving into Miami.
yeah i was just looking on jet blue and i noticed that's the closest airport to miami...
not sure how long of a drive that is?

here's a sample search result on jet blue:
Regular Fare US$79.00 Tue, 22 Mar 05 Flight 301 8:10 am Depart Washington, DC/Dulles (IAD)
10:45 am Arrive Ft Lauderdale, FL (FLL)
Regular Fare US$199.00 Sat, 26 Mar 05 Flight 308 11:10 am Depart Ft Lauderdale, FL (FLL)
1:35 pm Arrive Washington, DC/Dulles (IAD)
so, round trip is $296.70.

as for buying straight off the US Airways site, y'all in baltimore have much cheaper flights available. there are plenty of roundtrip flights strait to miami for under $300.

also, on orbitz there were tons of flights under $260, spreading over a range of days all that week. and of course you can get all kinds of hotel/car/flight/whatever combo deals on orbitz too.

*********************************
all that aside, i'm still wondering if people are driving down. i've never been on a road trip down the coast, and i think it could be super fun to drive down instead of fly, especially because i'm bored of flying. not saying i won't fly, because it is wonderfully fast after all. i'm just intersted in who's planning on driving down.

I drove to Miami last year with some friends and it took us about 16~17 hours (that includes about 5 gas/food stops).

If you're planning on flying, check out www.cheapflights.com they have the lowest airefare and you'll be landing in Miami International Airport, NOT ft. lauderdale.
I can't wait till march. I'll be down there from the 24th til the 27th.

Regarding driving down to Miami:

Aside the fact that it'd be cheaper to fly rather than driving. You should also be ready to give yourself 2-4 days dedicated just for driving back & forth. On top of that, the continuous driving/riding would completely drain you out.

to add my 2 cents............ I think if bought early enough, its worth $200. our badge paid for itself last yr, firguring the discounts @ the parties we went to ( some were even letting in badge holders first) 2 clubs had open bars for holders and the FREE addmission to Ultra. So I think its deff. worth it, but the all depends on your plans........

yes.. the drive is pretty bad. But if you go with a group of friends(in which you probably will if you're driving), you can take turns. The reason we're driving there is because we need a car while we're down there to get around and none of us are 25.

The drive is not that long. From Baltimore it took us about 17 hours, so it should be about 16-17 hours from DC.

advice for ultra. Come EARLY... i mean EARLY... like around 12 when they open. It take no effort to get in, no lines, no problems with security, easier to bring things like camera and bags. And most importantly, you'll have time to explore the place and get situated.... It is BIG.

Yeah man most of my fondest memories of Miami are from the daytime parties. The first day I got there it was me and 2 friends, ON the beach, on a COUCH, under a palm tree.. breeze blowing, sipping on cocktails while one of my favorite DJ's was playing about 100FT away. I'll take that over a crowded, sweaty, smelly throng of people anyday.
