well in other genres i dig a producer named "Bows" he does stuff in the vein of Tricky, but more melodic.

Also DJ Can, DJ Honda, DJ Krush, the whole Ninja Tune roster, and Nautilis out of Arizona. But they are fairly known...

There are different degrees of unknowness, I wouldn't say Orion is unknown but definitely underrated. My favorite unknowns are Hak and Genome. I guess Fanu is getting to be known, I'm not sure though. Same with 0=0 and Equinox. And Sileni. How that guy isn't more well known I don't understand. He's one of the most original producers in years (I guess I answered my own question there).

Pieter K, although known, gets an honorable nod for being probably the most underrated producer out there.

yea its so vague.. i mean Fanu has a release coming on Subtitles for example, so i definitely wouldnt consider him unknown. maybe underrated would have been a better topic. oh well, thats why i didnt bother to answer

I didn't know Fanu has stuff coming out on Subtitles. Actually, I find that surprising, his stuff doesn't seem to fit the usual Subtitles sound. Safe geezer for sure though, he deserves it.

finally was able to find a release availabel by plejik, think its on magic vinly...=both tunes are strong in their own right and serve different purposes...definite keeper.

bought some kaiser stuff of late for the darker bangier stuff. again nice range.(moving shadow ep)

picked up some ThinkTank, DBridge(the stuff on no exit is greatness) & Pariah for the cerebrial groove tip.

on the super hard tip (for me at least) i think its "judderman" and/or "spor". track called whisper is deliciously evil.

i guess a lot these cats are "known" but fuckit their lesser known and i suck at following instructions....

my fav unknown producers at the moment are:

Robbie McDonald
Sickboy
Axiom
Ibrahim First Born

Robbie has some of the smoothest tunes,
Axiom chops his beats up like no others
and Ibrahim First born has the bomb ass crying beats I've ever heard, makes me miss true hip hop sometimes...

And yes I know i"m bias, but Godfather Sage, since I hear his stuff more than anyone else, I have to say has some crazy tunes, I love the sweetest lullabies remix of Deborah Bond. Can't listen it to enough.

not really anything you can play out... but my buddy Dave is on the right track if he would ever make some dj oriented material (i keep buggin him to do so... he never goes out, but when he does, he's reminded how badass it'd be to have his shit played over a loud ass system).

Yeah, U-Ome is a wicked DJ and producer out of Arizona, we had him over to our party Ziion earlier this year. We will definately bring him back again, hopefully before year end and mash it up. Quality remixes and a great chap as well.... :residentbrit:
