If you produce your own "Techno" music, of any kind. Be it techno, electro, minimal and the like please post the style you do and maybe a link. It would be nice to know whos out there making songs in the DC area etc.

Tech house is techno it depends on what you call tech house. I think of tech house as Perlon type of music. Or when the term "Tech House" was born, it was to discribe the music of English Label Plink Plonk among others. So theres your answer.
Its up to the individual. The Tech House I like is the more disciplined manner of building tracks that have meaning and substance. Not just making a dance track for partys/raves.

I like to try out different styles. Most of my music is dark techhouse. If anyone out there is into music by Detroit techno artists, or berlin shuffely type stuff. Id be into doing remixes (vice versa). Ill be at Mass Production on this (thursday).

it would be cool if more tech heads came out to the mass production nite. Its fun. It would be cool if there were more people who made techno there. Its usually a mixed bag ranging from downtempo to drum and base, some trance. Surprisingly the music there is really good, considering its all local musicians.

Heres a neato mosquito track. Kind of an idea of the music I try to do.
Im working on more song oriented tech house. This is sort of an experimental track.

I've made a few electro tunes. Yeah, I know it's just about opposite of what the average Junglist would spend time on, but hey, I like the stuff. Sorry no links.

Haven't had time to clean the sound up yet (or finish the track at that((shocker))), but this mylast pre studio track. or most of it. "*note, it'll only be here temporarily. Like a week or two. And if anyone is curious about the linplug Albino2. It's all over this track worth every penny).

needless to say i spent all day yesterday exploring my new toys and this is childs play compared to what will follow, but it's atleast an idea of what's going on in my head right now.
Hope all is well,

what is this mass production night
I am very interested. I have been wanting to get into production for years now but I havent had the funds to really get into it. I recently started learning on a ripped copy of reason, but its not the same it seems. Not that I would really know by comparison.

Mass Production is a night that showcases local producers.
it will definitely give you an idea of weather you're tracks will fly or not in a small venue. I've had to not play songs I planned on playing there because I could tell that I would look like a dork.

A little bit. I have been trying to rewire the studio and it's too boring a task to face.
I produce mostly fart-core. Just kidding. I make all fart-core.

Recently, I've made several short songs. It's fun! I'm still learning things in efforts to make them even better. As for the style... The latest ones are closer to house, but there are some unclassified ones too.

Producing is to time consuming unless you are doing it as a hobby, other wise its a waste of time

naw i wouldn't go so far as to say that . . .
I've made some decent cash doing a few remixes for some major labels, and that was just advances, don't get royalties until early next year
now it wasn't really my main musical focus, just some projects on the side.
made some of money off of releasing records, not too much though.
there is also money in solid paying DJ gigs that you get from having noteriety from record releases, a bit here and there, it adds up
now there is no way in hell i could say that i support myself through producing music, but hopefully some day it could happen :cross:
