hello fans,
in just a few weeks, a unique rump-shaking event will take place in our fair city. that's right, PORTABLE [london] and SUTEKH [san fran] will be joining forces to bring you live performances at the FLASHPOINT GALLERY as part of sonic cicuits.
serious techno all night long (and special guests dj's ladyplastik and red dakini)

What a night! IDM/EDM pioneers Sutekh and Portable
will bring their unique musical talents to bear on our
fair city. SUTEKH, founder of Context records, is a
known quantity for effing things up in quirky sort of
way. As for PORTABLE, oh la la! This kind sir hails
from South Africa and brings deep, moving tech-house
sounds to send shivers down your timbers. If you missed
him at this year's MUTEK, do not miss his first live
appearance in the U.S.
The first half of evening, too, will prove to be a
very high tech affair where locals Mikroknytes,
Sawtooth - from the UK, and a soon-to-be-announced
Australian artist won't be in the same room, time
zone, or continent for the performance! Using the
Internet and a special web based computer application
called Visitors Studio, live digital video and audio
will be mixed from all three continents and projected
on the wall.
Also, expect some guest DJANES (i.e. Ladyplastik and
Red Dakini). Boo ya!

it's an all purpose gallery space. this is where you will be performing, nick.
the performance room is literally a black box. built in sound too, but we're bringing
our own pa support.

dress however you want. this is not a club. there is no door b.s. express yourself :)
doors are at 8. sutekh and portable will probably play starting at 11 or so. early, i know, but that's the deal with this space. it's still gonna rule. come early for djs and the visitor's studio.
this show is NOT idm. it is going to rock your socks off in a good way,
yet will sound completely unlike most anything heard in the dc area of late.
don't sleep on this. you'll still have time to head out to late night events afterwards.

i missed this - how was it??
it was really great!
except for the part where it was shut down halfway through portable's set
due to tenant complaints.
