So I just finished listening to the new Prodigy cd and it rocks! Ya I know it's not due out to hit the stores till next month, but I couldn't resist giving it a listen when I came across it (gotta love the internet). Soon as Windows Media Player finished with the last track I went and put in my preorder for it. Me personally I dug the first half the cd better then the second, but still a purchase that needs to be made. If anyone else has come across the "pre release" version and given it a listen I'd be curious as to what you think.

Can you describe what it sounds like (meaning if it is closer to his first album, second album....)

unless they are leaving off the first singles released, the album cannot be good.

Damn it's not released yet???? I've had the cd for about 2 months now.....I wasn't really impressed

while they went back to the spontinaity and sounds from the music for a jilted generation era, the vocals that everyone associates with them (FOTL era) are not on this record......so basicily if your expecting stuff like fat of the land.......then you probally wont like this............but if your expecting stuff like jilted......then you probally will like this.........but it does have more vocals than jilted did and the production on this cd sounds half assed.......

also maxim and keith are nowhere on this album.......granted keith left the band....but still.....maxims would have been nice

the vocals on this cd are done by Liam Gallagher, Juliette Lewis, Twista, and a few others........obscurities..

now don't get me wrong.......its not a bad cd..........but its not my fav........I'd say it was my 3rd fav behind jilted and fat of the land.......

re: jilted

you can't go wrong with any album that has Clint Mansell on one of the tracks!

PWEI was the shit! One of the best live acts to see... and responsible for some truly fun music!
it's a shame they broke up nearly ten years ago now :sadblue:

It is nothing like Jilted
if it was I wouldn't have said it sucks
I love Jilted and their first album

Every track on this has stupid distorted vocals and is trying to be electro-sleaze sounding
it just comes off as lame and trendy

true........but in comparing it to their other works.......it is closer to jilted style than the rest of their stuff.........and lightyears away from fat of the land.....

and i'm with you with saying it sucks.........but it is better than alot of other cds out there......but it totally isnt their best work.......but it isnt their worst........ :nixo: baby's got a temper

eather way you'll like it or you wont........just go in with an open mind while listening to it though otherwise you wont like it.

wurd. prodigy is the shit. i posted about the new album like a year ago (okay a month?) no1 seemed that interested. basterds. the new cd is totally diff from the others imo. probably my least fav of the prodigy cds, but still good shit nonetheless. it has a real old-scool punkish feel to it. liam did the whole deal on acid (wtf) but whateva. i'm just happy they have new material, thought they were gunna be finished for awhile there.

I cannot stand that song, but when I heard it I figured you'd be all about it. Liam should go back and listen to The Experience again. . . that was the hot shit. I'm guessing we will be seeing the Girls LP in your case sometime soon Ed?

Def agree with that there. A staple on the history of electronic music in my opinion.
