I don't think they do that being a live act and all... interesting idea though... Buzz should get residents though, its good to generate bigger crowds... Arc with Howells, Glow with there cheesecrew, Twilo with S+D, etc...
question is who?
dj skribble.

correction: hybrid do live sets AND DJ, much more so the latter actually. and yeah, howells would be gerat too, he had a residency before (once a month or every other month i think)...
and by the way......................no offense but i think dj skribble sucks donkey balls.

It's surprising they don't have any residents yet (besides area DJ's of course), but I'm sure that will come with time.

back on topic....
i fully support this idea

yes, i think a lot of people would support this. but perhaps i should elaborate on my previously concise suggestion.
i don't know what the status of residents for cubik is, or if they even plan on having any at all. but if they are, perhaps it would be good to consider the peoples' suggestions (such as mine). ;)
i am pretty sure hybrid hold a residency at club eleven50 in atlanta, and so they would probably be able to swing by here quite frequently as well. so, not only are they world-class DJs, but they also enjoy playing in DC and would most likely accept an offer to do so on a regular basis considering its geographical proximity to their other east coast residency.
perhaps we should set up a poll to see how many people would actually like this idea.
and then if we mobilize enough supporters, we can rally and march in DC to gain national coverage. the buzz crew will thereafter have no say in the matter...hehehe...

A residency where? Certainly not at any buzzlife production.

how about we get an f'ing Live-PA from them first!!! then we can worry about a f'ing residency. Their DJ sets are nothing to write home about...

i remember deep dish and dave ralph held residencies, and i could have sworn howells did as well. regardless, he played there like every other month at least.
also, it would be interesting to see hybrid play live at nation. i'd be totally down for that.
however, i must disagree with beema: their DJ sets are some of the best i've ever experienced. their remixes and their blend of progressive house and breakbeats are what i really like about their sets.
you are entitled to your own opinion nonetheless.

As good as Hybrid is, and they are one of my favorites... A dream would be to see Plump Dj's... I know its not possible here because they can't get a visa or whatever from some drug problems.... But MAN I want to see them. Eargasm is one of my fav. albums hands down.

Its settled then, we should petition the U.S. Government to allow the Plump Dj's back in the US and then threaten Buzz with rolling heystacks and pitchforks to book them...
Wow sorry for jacking the thread, back to Hybrid.

lol.
don't worry about the thread-jacking. i'm used to it.
can someone elaborate on the plumpers' situation? i'm not sure why a drug problem would prohibit them from entering the united states...unless they are trying to smuggle drugs in?
i have some high-profile connections at the state department, maybe i can get them a visa...

Thats beautiful, however, I couldn't tell you. Honestly its all hearsay atm. My suggestion is emailing them. I know that could seem a bit awkward but you could explain that you and many other Americans want to see them and that you heard they were having some sort of Visa problem and you could be of assistance. Who knows... either that or do more research, lol. Another thing I heard is that their ban isn't permanent, so who knows when it gets lifted. Personally, the sooner the better.

I suppose that would be pretty funny. Yet not very thought provoking.

you must first remember that our nation's drug policy is totally, totally fucked.
and, y'know, they could be, like, working for the terrorists and stuff.

I'll be seeing Hybrid for the first time on the 27th, do they spin already recorded material or what?

I'll be seeing Hybrid for the first time on the 27th, do they spin already recorded material or what?
what exactly do you mean by that?
if you mean: do they spin material that they remixed or wrote and produced themselves? then the answer would be yes. a decent portion of their sets consists of hybrid material, but most definitely not all.
if on the other hand you mean: do they pre-record dj sets in their studio and then play them back at the club? then the answer would be absolutely not. they spin impromptu sets and choose tracks in part by feeding off the crowd's vibe.
hope i somehow answered your question.
the bottom line is: you are going to have an awesome time friday. if you're 21, and make it to the open bar, then you will have an awesome time but may not be able to recall any of it....
