OK so....
I thought this was going to be some bland ass downtempo cd, but to my finding it has plenty of hot tracks, I like the cd!!! I liked it enough to get it off of my computer and burn it to a cd for further listening!!
You have a variety of nuskool, old skool, florida breaks and that down tempo track.. It's good all in all, I do think yoou should stick to just one or two types of breaks.... The downtempo track was nice but I like to hear a cd starting off hard and staying hard till the end.
Two thumbs up!! Good job Josh!

I'm not sure what you mean by downtempo track. Every track on the cd was around 135 bpms. Maybe you mean the orbital track?
Definately glad you dug it. I've been djing for about 4 years, and have never produced a cd that I thought was great. I have one, but it's very short. This happened to be recorded live on internet radio, so there was some of that energy there that comes out of a live environment. You should come out to Delivery next Sunday Aug 22 and check out my tag team "hammer brothers", along side "The Mario bros", and Dj Lantern.
It's gonna be an all breaks night, and trust it'll be real hot in there.
One comment I'll make in regards to playing many different types of breaks is that I really don't program things when I dj. I bring a box full of crazy shit that I know is gonna rock, and I start it off. Things go where they want to go. I am not in control of the music as a dj, but it is in control of me. So, with that in mind I tend to throw down acid house/techno/funky house and whatever else I may feel like along with breakbeat (which is my favorite), as the moment asks for it. I was tooling around with Alen Ginsberg spoken word and Robin Williams stand up records over one another yesterday! The music of a dj is a facinating thing...

ok, just got finished listening to it.
ill admit, i couldnt really get down to any of the tracks on here except the pod bowser track.
the mixing is clean. simple, but clean.
i hate to say it but i really really hate intro to outro mixing.
this to me is indeterminably more boring than sticking to one style.
i just try not to let the records make all the desicions in my mixes.
good job, though.

half-way through.. re: mixing styles.. you dont' fuck up the flow.. but I am also one of those that don't really like to hear a dj wait until the record is ending to drop the next tune. you might as well be just hitting buttons, or listening to a jukebox. good tunes are important, but you have to add some flavor and indivuality in your mixing style to set you apart from others.
JMHO. I really like the tunes you're dropping btw.

Every track on the cd was around 135 bpms.
Hmmm...that's surprising. These tunes feel a bit slower than 135.

thanx for all the feedback. The more I listen to this, the more I see what you're all saying. Honestly I've always been the antithesis of into-outro mixing. I've always been more of an experimental dj. I guess when placed in the setting of an internet radio mix puts me in a different zone. You all can come out to Skylounge this Sunday and check out the sound live for a different perspective. I've uploaded another mix that I really like. It's short (30 min), but I really dig the energy in it. I've posted another thread in the breakbeat forum with the link.
