*bump*
Getting techno talent into the city starts with the small parties.
If there really is such a big techno scene around here...you guys need to support this...

you think I don't WANT to support shit? It's not my fault all these fucking places are 21+
it's really limiting and rediculous
there is nowhere except Cubik in DC now that is 18+ (except like...Home or something, but thats just ghey)

Well, the place is a bar, not a club...so they can't really slack much on that :sadblue:
How much longer do you have?
I was shocked how few people were there last night :( Was fun though!
Good meeting you Nemo, and seein' the few people that were there :)
7/28, more techno at Funky Alternatives.

Wednesday night parties are typically a throw of the dice... if everything isn't exactly right, we get handed our asses. Also because of the location, our deep/vocal/disco/jazz house parties tend to do better than when we do techno, electro, and breaks. I mean, we aren't going to stop doing T, E, & B... but it is simply not as attractive an offering to regulars.

Itz a bar... not really much one can do about that. Back when we used to do Japone on Thursday nights, we had the party shut down several times because groups of underage GW students would show up. That sucks infinitely harder than a few people not being able to come in.

ILT was the most amazing party I have ever been to. I went in 2002 and the lineup was killer. Beyer, Carola, Vath, Underworld, Franssen, Cox, Barbara. definitely check it out this year if you get a chance. I have never been to awakenings before but its in Amsterdam in August/Early September. You get a lot of the Dutch techno guys like Michel de Hey and the swedes: Beyer, Lekibusch, Mull. Maybe we should do a techno field trip?
