just like in the progressive and Dn'B forums, let's keep each other updated as to cool records coming out that some of us may not have noticed.
artist, record name, label
sample
description/review
i'll start:
tim xavier - ciudad revenge [773 tekno]
sample 1 (http://217.158.65.110/MP3/SF149819-01-01-01.mp3) | sample 2 (http://217.158.65.110/MP3/SF149819-01-02-01.mp3)
very spacey synths, pounding drums. the first track is better imho. the 2nd track is a little less relentless on the drums, more staccato.

Taken from my review of this track in DJ Times.
Retraso Del Pardon EP - HD Substance - Consigned (CA) (http://www.planetxusa.com/pub/audio/djram/2004/161642.ram)
Excellent release from Montreal based Consigned Recordings and Spanish tech master, HD Substance. "Orto" is a smooth, silky slab of tech house magic, complete with lush keys, deep bassline and a ton of atmosphere. Next up, is the stand out track on this EP, "Definition." Absolutely gorgeous from first note to last, this track moves you with subtle, building Latin flavored percussion, deep, sexy bass and warm old school keys that work you over and over again. Side B continues making moves, with "Wine" a shuffling, almost broken beat flavored tech house mover and "Chop", a straight forward, rocking tribal techno drum track.
Paul, here's my tune of the day also off of Consigned.
ADAM JAY - MOST BEAUTIFUL CURSE - CONSIGNED
Adam Jay is the shit! So is HD Substance....I'll have to check that out.

2004-06-26, 12:29 PM
thanks bro i look forward to getting it, you got to tell me your secret with the promos, btw when is that new mr sliff record supposed to hit the shelves???
Paul Dailey
2004-06-27, 04:15 AM
The promos come down to you being influential enough in your area to warrant free music. Also, it is down to what else you can offer the labels.
Since I am one of the few techno Djs in Boston...and also write for like 4 different magazines...I get a lot of consideration with free promos. I hooked up with 2 distribution companies and at this point, get about 90% of the music I play for free.
Not sure on the release date for the Mr. Sliff...think it is July sometime.

2004-06-27, 05:16 PM
audion (matthew dear) - "kisses" on spectral
http://www.ghostly.com/audio/other/kisses.mp3
hottest techno track of the year imo!
Neuroticinsight - nice call w/ the Matthew Dear track. I really like a lot of his music but find it hard to incorporate into my sets. Matthew is definitely dope.
My tune of the day....not jackin' techno, but more on the tech-house tip...
THOMAS SAHS - LITTLE DEE - DAE <- Heard Tripwire play it in Richmond and I had to have it.

ok, this isn't a record. it's a mix CD of original productions by one of my favorite producers:
dirty bass - light from the darkness live [dirty bass recordings]
i'm not sure if it's a live PA, or a live laptop set or what. some of their previous releases are on it, but also a bunch of new ones that are dope. listen to samples on this page (http://www.juno.co.uk/IP/IF150554-01.htm).

DJ Misjah - Sea Side ep (wet21)
It seems like DJ Misjah is slowly but surely finding his sound. The funky "live is music" track has these catchy vocals that immediately makes you wanna repeat them, sounds alot like his earresistable release. "Sea Side" is more floor oriented with its driving bassline and drum squences. Get ready to hear this track in alot of sets.

Tomie Nevada - night becomes day [elp22004]
http://www.juno.co.uk/IP/IF154764-01.htm
I don't know if Tomie wrote these tracks prior to his relocation to Offenbach, Germany (He lives in the elp-studios now I believe), but this ep reminds me of the early italian synth era and maybe the true reflection of his early musical influences (he is polish by the way:)
Abstract spacey layered synths, funky basslines.... aaaah deep housy-techno goodness...

The two Austrians who are responsible for the Titanium outfit, Felipe and Nicolas Bacher, come out with a brand new label called "Supreme Entertainment" and boy do they come out strong! Check out the first two releases here : http://www.supreme-entertainment.com/
[Supreme 001] Felipe & Nicolas Bacher - Banyan Tree (Latin style drums and vocals with an SLS remix)
[Supreme 002] Felipe & Nicolas Bacher - Acaldo (Staby deep stuff, just how I like it, with a Vigorito remix for the floor)
