This is one sound that i've never really liked, but it has seem to have stuck around for a long while... when do you think it'll become overkill to have hoovers in hard house/nrg tracks???

but there's gotta be some way to tweek them more than they have been.... it's kinda the same 'ole same 'ole....
in my book, it ranks up there with 'lame movie sound bite' as best way to ruin a dope track.... just my 2-cents.

The hoover can be twisted so many ways, shame on those who do not filter them.

I like me some hoover. I always thought it had a percussive quality to it, without being percussion. Quick hoover stabs get me psyched. Having said that, it really is just a patch on a Roland keyboard. I only have a few tracks with hoovers, and they all seem to be by Baby Doc.

you cant have UK Hard House / NRG without hoovers... it just wouldnt be the same.
It would be like removing synth-strings from epic trance...
Or the piano out of Happy-Hardcore...
It would be like removing the drum or bass from drum n bass.

I fucking love the hoover sound, I'll play breaky old school hardcore type tracks with hoovers.. *goes searching* hehehehe
hardcore will never die, although I wish it was still mostly breakbeat driven.

when do you think it'll become overkill to have hoovers in hard house/nrg tracks???
About four years ago?
I'm not saying you can never use them, but it's pretty hard to be original with them at this point when they've been done to death. I used to love them... maybe I still do to an extent, but you have to be careful if you don't want to just sound like every other hard house track that's been made. I actually haven't even bought any hard house/NRG in a long time just because I haven't heard anything particularly interesting lately.

there's definitely a revival in breakbeat hardcore lately. lots of new tunes being put out, and they're pretty diverse. ranging from trancey anthemy stuff to real slammin amen tracks and even more jungley-drum and bass stuff.
go to www.kniteforce.co.uk and check out luna-c's superset for a set that covers all teh different breakbeat hardcore and a little bit of four to the floor stuff. it's an amazing set.

:haha:
i've seen this type of rivalry in hard house... and really, nobody wins unless you can be able to work both.

see, i like those really drawn out and filtered hoovers like that sample.... i just really hate the quick zippy hoovers at the begining of the sample i posted....
it's like instant cheese when they are in a track.
