It is confirmed that now Guitar Centers have them. Although they don't take it out for display... I just saw the box. It was enough to make me droooool.

i've heard lots of feedback from some peeps that have actualy used the new technics cdjs and they say that they woudl rather stick with the pioneers that they currently own.. something about the features and whatnot .. that the Pioneers are still better.. which i can kinda see seeing that this is Technics FIRST cdj.. give them a couple more versions and i bet that technics with make one that is superior!

I saw one at Guitar Center two days ago, it seemed pretty nice, but I don't think it is really worth the price at this point. Maybe if I was trying to scratch with it, but for spinning I'd be alright with a Pioneer 100 for $300.

Yes, you can with the CDJ1000 MK2. Frankly I haven't seen any additonal feature benefits of the Techs above the CDJs. Heck, I can scratch with my $500 Numark dual CD players... :specialed:

I see the biggest dis/advantage this has is the moving platter on the top.

The +ve is that you get the same feel as the vinyl moving.

The -ve is that you could accidentally bump the "record" when trying to get to the controls in the center. Of course I'm assuming one can turn off the platter as well.

Personally I'd like a non-metallic surface on top, like the CDJs.

i checked them out on monday at guitar center.
this is a formidable piece of gear for certain.

the 'record' is a plastic disc that feels like vinyl more than any
other cd turntable out there. its feel is light, like a record, not
as heavy as the pioneers feel (though, those aren't bad really)
they really feel perfect, though the platter is not full size. it's 8 inches
in diameter. i believe numark's new cdx players have a full 12 inch
platter on top.

not quite sure these players are worth the $1200 price, but
it is quite a feat for technics to debut a cd player of this kind
and get so much right so soon.

for someone who merely beatmatches, these decks are not necessary,
however for a serious turntablist dj, these could be the holy grail of digital
simulation of a vinyl format.

Anyone know if the DZ1200 will play mp3s from a CD?
I realize that the info says it will play mp3s - but that MAY be for the SDCard only. Anyone?

Okay, read more into it from the mfg website... and the way it's worded... sounds like the player will read mp3s from a CD... :werd:
Anyone to confirm this??

I must have one immediatly.
OMG - What am I sayin? - I must have TWO of em immediatly!
