He's been at Five pretty regularly on Saturday nights, and he was at Sonar.
I'd love to see him booked for techno set.

:werd: He's played at Five a bunch of times. He is absolutely awsome and a really nice guy. BOOK HIM!!!
I remember at Five last year I'm dancing and I *think* James was beside me. I'm like "do you realize we're shaking our ass's to NELLY?!?!?!?!" That was a great night he tore it up.

 It was I remember that. You were there, Walker, James, Bioteknik and his gf, Matt and Lisa I think... everyone was there that night. Good times even though that was the night I literally shoved some jackass for trying to mack on me while I'm dancing. I hate that shit... it's why I never go on the dancefloor anymore.

fyi... m3 has added two staff members to the dancefloor area to take care of these problems. if this happens, let them know and they will take care of the situation to the extent required.
dance....safely.

gabriel- That's awsome if they really did because that shit was ridiculous. I was dancing in the back and some guy BEHIND me reaches forward and pulls me backwards!!!! I turn around and shoved him and yelled at him.. he was huge too but I was pissed. That was the 3rd time some guy decided to try to put their hand on me that night. I haven't been to Five in a month or so, so I didn't know about the new staff. Good job on that!
ANYWAY, bring us Josh Wink!!!! A techno set would be great!

housecat,
yeah...well M3 is very very receptive to the comments and concerns of anyone visiting the club. with regards to that particular issue, tim has always been receptive too (one long discussion on district soul comes to mind in particular) it. in the past he's hung signs letting people know, had hired staff to be there for that, and is always willing to take a moment and talk to you (about whatever) while walking around the club.
also, one time i bumped into him and something was on my mind, so i stood there by the bar and chatted with him for a second about it (just to let him know, nothing big). he was like, cool...well thanks for letting me know i'll keep it in mind" and then "bought" me a drink. i was like...daaaaaaaamn.

I have been to fluid a couple of times. very nice, small and intimate place, not to mention the unisex toilet. Haven't seen Wink there though, caught Pete Moss there one of the times.

Funny Josh Wink story....
I went to this Christmas party a few years back up in Baltimore. It was at this nasty venue that was an actual Bingo Parlor. It felt like a High School Dance kind of thing, no one was dancing, it was too well lit, and the vibe was just wierd. They had a seperate area for smoking that was blocked off, that really didn't make a difference. Anyway, I got there late, right before Josh Wink went on. When he went on it was one of the worst DJ sets I have ever heard. Not his track selection, but his abilities. He must have been so drunk that he could hear, because he was train wrecking after EVERY SINGLE TRACK! And I was not the only one that heard it too, everyone I knew was commenting on it. It was back, he would mix in the MIDDLE of a 4 beat measure.... it was just horrid. It was odd too because that was back when his name was getting really frikkin huge and everyone loved to talk him up. I know all DJs have their off nights but damn.
It still goes down as the worst set I have ever heard.

this was the family party "mistletoe" previously mentioned... and just an fyi: the screw-ups that nite weren't wink's fault; the set was horrid, and the tables, mixer, montior, etc were constantly cutting off throughout his whole set. at one point someone even tripped and pulled out a plug and one of the turntables turned off. it was a mess! james christian played a pretty good set that nite, thought.

yay for old skool family productions. Sucks that he had to deal with all those problems if that was indeed the mixer/monitor/etc. Oh well, reguardless, I've had a salty taste for him ever since I saw that.
