there are a few locals that i didn't mention that ARE good dj's technically, they just don't play any of the tracks i like, therefore not making them my "favorite" djs. Just because they are not my favorite, in no way, shape, or form does that make them not respectable.

I just wanted to state that for the record.

Filtered Disco House is so much fun though sir. Doesn't Mr. Cox still play Filtered DH? Maybe I'm out of it but I swore he still did. Nice track by the way, forgot to post a reply to the post you submitted regarding your new one.

Well you know that deep House has gotten super-trendy within the last few years, (tho its always been around for a while like with 95 North and Red crowd, the soulful House crowd, etc)

but i think in the last few years its just got more trendy with the influx of "ex-ravers" who grew out of the rave scene and embraced the Loung-ey kinda side of House

nothing wrong with that, of course :D

but besides that i think the problem is the music form itself is kinda stagnating, of course there are a lot of good records that come out and a talented artists, but I think there alot of crap records being released as well (of course it like that in all genres too)

Well, i guess its all a matter of opinion of course

and thats the beauty of House anyway, it such a broard range of styles and flavors that any one can find anything that speaks to them and appeals to them about House music.

i hope that clarified things, not a fan of the filter House though, though i have crates of that stuff from a few years back, haha

Thanks about the comments of the track! It is trendy "Starsky & Hutch" type House :D no disco loop filters!!!

Well I guess I'll be a loner on this one but here we go:

DUBTRIBE -
They better bring their hippi loven azzez out to DC this summer, should be doing a few dates in the US, Washington is listed as one of the spots they would hit....***fingers crossed***

Q-Burns Abstract Message -
The man's crazy funky with the records and always a fun night out

Tyler Stadius -
Was lucky enough to catch him this year @ WMC back 2 back two different parties same night

Robbie Hardkiss -
Another good funky houser, and he will be in DC soooooon

THREE -
Hallucination can do no wrong and this fool can kill it with the best of them.......really need to bring him to BUZZ and cut him lose so he can give the Capitol a good night out

Stacey Pullen -
Been wanting to see him for so long and I though I was finally going to get my shot last year @ WMC but it ended being a bust....o-well, so for now he remains on the "still need to hear out" list

====================
Now for the already mentioned:

EAST COAST BOOGIEMAN -

well persoanlly vasquez is very commercial and i dun like him, way to vocally. But on the other hand have you ever had the pleasure to hear victor calderone spin live? If you have, you would not be saying that about him. I have heard sets by victor that would rival that of Lawler.

People think that just because the DJs cater to a gay crowd, that they don't know how to bang it out. I will admit some DJs who spin at "circuit parties" spin cheesy vocals, and i don't like that. I have been at some massive parties, that these so called "commercial DJs" would make you piss in your pants cause of all the water you are drinking from drying to stay hydrated cuz you cannot get off the floor, cuz track after track, and hour after hour you are bombarded with awesome underground tribal beats/dubs. Of course there is a layered vocal in there somewhere, but hey as i recall lawler spins records from Star 69 label, which is ran by Peter Rauhofer, i prodominitely gay DJ/producer. So peter must be doing something right, to grab the attention of lawler.

I view certain DJs who you say are circuit party DJs like scott henry. They are very versatile, and they spin marathon sets (6+ hrs). But like scott, it all depends on the mood they are in the day of the gig. Sometimes Scott may spin house, other times...trance, etc. Same with these DJs somedays they may feel like banging it out and others...switch it up with some vocals. You jess gotta catch em when they are in their element, and when you do they are fierce.

Lets try not to be stereotypical here....after all, even though to you it is commercial house...it is still a genra of house music, and should be respected for that fact. I am not asking you to like it, we all have our dislikes, but that doesn't mean we go sh*tting on it, cuz there will always be others who do like it, and it is a valid response to the question posted.

Rock on!
