LOL Being as I was there when you made this, I heard the "advance screening" of FIF (:afterbuzz:), and so you already know how fucking awesome and on point I think it is :D You should be very excited and proud to be putting out such a dope CD :)

This is honestly my favorite CD of yours so far... and that's saying a lot, because I've loved all the previous four :affection:

I haven't had the time to read up on all of this harmonic mixing jazz but does it really matter for house? I mean, from the few posts that I have read it seems like it's meant for more harmonic drawn out mixes, 90 seconds or more. To me, usually house dj's don't mix for that long, and especially drum and bass dj's don't mix that long either..except for Andy C's new Nightlife CD (highly recommend it for those that haven't heard it).

Anywho, I'm sure it'd work for house too, I'll have to take the time to read all of the literature on this style of mixing because it definately sounds interesting.

I'll check it out sometime this week. Honestly I'm so beat from just doing regular mixing with house (12 hours yesterday) and 10 hours of watching that damn Q-Bert DIY Scratching DVD and trying to get Chirps and Flares down. I am completley burnt out ATM for a few days and need to just kick back and watch some TV for a few days =). I've seen the posts, it's definately going to take me a good 2-3 hours to read through it all.

matt, listened to the mix on the way to & from work yesterday and today... very very nice! i love the overall quirk you got goin on in it, and i was diggin the tempo--perfect for driving. the mixing is clean, smooth and quite creative at points (especially the working in and out you did w/the afterparty white label!). i also give two thumbs up on the programming and progression--the two hardest things to get 'just right' in a mix (in my opinion anyway).

Finally got it Matt (I had it shipped to my parents home up North), excellent job sir! Very smooth progression, and I like your bass cuts. I am not too familiar with the records so it is hard for me to tell where the mix begins and ends (and that's also credited to the great mixing as well); however, I think it's track 3 to track 4 where the vocals go:

I feel...dancing....so right...dancing...all night...dancing...you blow...dancing...my mind...dancing...etc...

That shit is sweet man, excellent job on that! Those two records work great together. This one will definately be in the CD play for a few weeks. I wasn't able to listen to it as closely as I would have liked too; however, I'm going to give it another full listen on my next long drive so that I can focus on it a bit more.
