i'm so hardcore i have no work or classes tomorrow and i plan on wandering around my house all day tomorrow in my pjs. friday i have one class that is 50 mins long, then i might have work or not. if i dont then i will be chillin at home as it is i have no money or ride to Cübik. saturday i will take the money i have put aside for the past 2 weeks and go get needles stabbed through my ear. then go to a house party later that evening until the wee hours of the morning. after that i will come home and possibly sleep for 3-4 hours then wake up and go to work at 10 til i have to bowl on my league. i am that hardcore.

Friday/Saturday: drive to Atlantic City, NJ in a car that is 4000 miles past an oil change. Play a shitload of poker and maybe a little blackjack, roulette, slots, and pai gow during my down time. Sleep in a plush hotel. Drive back saturday night.

Sunday: sleep in until the evening. Watch Arrested Development. Eat. Go back to sleep.

Now THAT is hardcore. At least, for me it is. I can't hang with you big boys.

ali i was just in AC two days ago...played some texas hold em.

after 6 hours, i only won $20. but hey, its better than losing my money.

i was up $180 at one point. next hand, i get pocket Aces, hearts and spades.

on the flop, it comes out King hearts, 10 clubs, Ace Hearts. so i have 3 aces, i raise a couple people out and it comes down to 3 of us. next card, 10 hearts. i now have Aces full of 10s...and basically, im thinking that there are only a couple hands that could really beat that, and i know there is no 4 of a kind, etc. basically, someone needed a straight flush, of which, the only possible was a royal to hearts.

river card: 3 diamonds....totally irrelevant. now you know people bet stupid down there, so when i kept raising this guy kept re-raising, i thought nothing of it...finally i was $140 or so in and i was like...fuck that im calling...

the motherfucker pulls the Q and J of hearts. royal flush. 1 in about every 5,000 hands, and it was THAT hand.

needless to say, i sat out for a bit and recollected myself.

eh, if you know how to play texas hold em and you onlly take with you what you would normally spend in a bar anyway, it works out. that game has some of the best odds, especially at the lower stakes tables if you are smart. plus you get free drinks and what not, so even if you lose, its just like you went to the bar anyway except you got to play cards.

Where did you play? Which limits were you playing, 3/6? I'm staying at the Borgata and I'm guessing that's where I'll be playing most of my poker.

I still can't believe the way that hand went down, Doug. If it's any reassurance, at least you know you were playing your cards right, any seasoned player would've done the same. A boat, especially aces full of 10s, is almost always a guaranteed win.

yea, that was my only consolation: there was absolutely nothing i could do against that...and absolutely no way i could have known. oh well, like i said, i still came out on top...even up 20 bucks is better than going home poor.

yea, i only go to Borgata or Harrahs. Borgata is the spot to be now, cuz its new, and whenever there's a new casino it just takes over as the new place. Harrahs is nice too, a bit of an older fashioned feel, but still real high quality. I dont even mess with the boardwalk, its pretty shitty compared to those two places. the marina is where its at, no doubt.

im going to new york on saturday during the day, but maybe we'll take a trip down to AC at night. if i do, we should meet up for a drink or even for some card :yes:

I took a one month break back when I was homeless for 2 weeks after leaving my parents, looking for a place to live and trying to work and find new jobs, and then finding out that a friend of mine was just murdered.....


So, all in all, I did have my reasons to get my life in order.
