OMG OMG OMG!!!!

I just had 2 dozen roses delivered to me at work for my birthday!!! It's tomorrow but since i am taking the day off, they were sent a day early!!!

Guys: IMO sending flowers to your girls work place is WAY better than sending them to her house or delivering them personally even if you have to send them a day early (NEVER LATE)...

I always thought roses were over rated. I usually sent out a huge vase full of lillys. Bigger, more colorful, and diffrent.

Awwww that's so sweet. I'm not big on roses either. Sweetest thing was about 3 years ago I was dating this guy and he sent me a bouqet of flowers and a stargazer water lily plant. It was BEAUTIFUL and so sweet of him. He was broke at the time so he had his friend drive them over to my work rather than courier them over.

This flower thread reminds me of a calvin and hobbs strip where calvin goes routing thru the flower shop dumpster for flowers for susie.

I'm not really into roses.or flowers(granted I've saved every rose I've received..ever)..I like really strange gifts that are unique or creative..something that's not store bought ...if the person I'm dating makes it themselves ...whether it be writing a poem or finding a poem that some poet wrote that reminds them of me..or remembering something I like..or even giving me a massage, those are awesome gifts. My art school bf's were so sweet b/c they'd play me songs on the guitar..or make me mixed cd's...write me poems, bake me vegan dishes...they were so sweet.
I may look materialistic..but, I'm totally not hwen it comes to certain things.

wow, very nice! I agree that the sweetest things in life come from the heart especially when it's the thought behind the gift that counts. . .:lessthanthree: :affection:

Fellas a bit of advice. Ladies generally will tell you what kind of flowers they like during the duration of the time you are going out so pay attention and take notes. Trust me its pays off and in the instance she does not like flowers she will have some other kind of liking clothing, perfume, music, ect.... Simply pay attention and you can not go a stray.

I'm not huge on roses myself... my middle name is rose, hence I have a tattoo of a rose so everyone assumes that I really like roses...

I would find it redundant to send flowers now, since Valentines is couple of weeks down the line. Thats why I need to think of doing something else rather than sending flowers. But I suck at buying gifts! :FUBAR:

I got lots of cool stuff for my birthday but unfortunately, I dont think that it will really help you... I got some DVDs I wanted, a ps2 controller and memory card, a hands free kit for my phone....and an indo board from a friend...

www.indoboard.com (not that I think it will help but in case you are curious)

I agreed with you right up until the lillies thing. Flowers in general are overrated. I think I'd rather have something that's still alive... call me a giant pessimist, but I feel really bad when they start dying and I'm obligated to keep them alive as long as possible, like on ER or something, I'm up there pruning them and feeding and talking to them and shit.

a pot with a living plant in it would be much better, I think.
