What do you think we have dreams? Do you think they are just repressed thoughts or could possibly be prophetic based on your experiences :P
Last nite I dreamt that the youngest Hanson died from a fatal meningitis...WTF? yeh...

For the most part, I think it's our subconscious method of processing information on a deeper level. Also, I have fairly good control over my dreams, and I like to practice things that I need to do. It's like getting an extra day for free.

niiiice....I'm not the only one with jumble dreams! hehe
I wish I had more dreams that I could control! Lucid dreaming I think it is called. The last time I had a lucid dream it was so nuts! I ended up making a kickass music video out of a possible nightmare, hehe.

I don't relaly know what dreams are. I used to think they were prophetic...and then I used to think they were just waking life residue...but then I had to go on medication for a serious illness and some of the side effects were neurological. It caused some seriously fucked up dreams. Things that were far from day residue...and I don't think that becoming a vampire and sucking the blood out of a child in order to get power to shapeshift and fly classify as prophetic. And to top it off, the medication caused altered reality dreams. Like you couldn't tell the difference between the dream and reality, they were so realistic. So for 8 hours a night I was living in a different world. So I really have no clue what dreams are...I think they are just an imagination running wild.

The ability of your brain to cross wires really freaks me out. I remember when I used to do a lot of E. I used to have these moments that we all would call "crackouts." And it would feel like you had 2 seperate lives running at the same time and they bumped into each other for a few seconds and then it was over. Like I would be rollin and I would sit there, and all of a sudden I was doing something that I didn't intentionally do. Like one time I was sitting behind a friend of mine, and out of nowhere I put my hands on his legs and said, "How many copies of this did you want me to make?" I also had a freind who was sitting on the floor in a room full of us and he out of nowhere yells, "Damn girl....where did you get that bandana?" And as soon as you are done, you look around in total disbelief that it just happened, because you did not conciously make it happen, it just did. Very funny, and very scarey all at the same time.

Dreams are a funny topic for me because... ever since I was a little kid, I've had waking dreams and waking nightmares. It's kind of funny... One moment, you're in tune with reality... and the next thing you know, you're seeing things that couldn't possably be real... but you think they are cuz your sucked into a dream... then the next thing you know, you're waking up and staring into oblivion... and for you, it feels like you've been out of it forever... when, really, you've only blacked out for like a second...

What's worse than the dreams, though, are the nightmares. I don't have these so much anymore, but when I do... they'r particularly firghtening. Like... Donnie Darkko and Frank on crack, on stage, performing a Chip 'n Dale routeine.... :chilly:

PErsonally, I think most dreams are either random firings of the wires in your brain... or a way for you to process emotions and ideas subconciously. I wouldn't necissarily call ALL of them prophetic... but I have had prophetic dreams before.

The night before 9/11, for example, I had this horrible dreams where I was two sky scrapers crumble, and people dead in the debris...with firefighters running in to save people and getting trapped, too... It was odd, too, because I'd wake up screaming or crying... but then when I went back to bed, it would just start playing all over again.

I also had a similar dream when my best friend Pam was dating this guy named Dan... I kept having dreams he was hitting her... but when I asked her about it, she denied everything... Until later that week, after having not slept for 8 days because of these nightmares, I walk in to find him hitting her...

:ohmygod: WOW! You're getting some serious vibes in your dreams. So far, the only times I've had nightmares as a young adult have been when I would take Melatonin to try to get some sleep and reduce my temporary insomnia. Those were all 9/11 dreams filled with bombs galore and machine guns all aimed at me. EEK

Do you get those dreams more often than not?

A.J. Inx
2004-01-12, 04:17 PM
....sometimes I feel like a lightening pole ontop of a barn attracting all serious vibes of the world into myself...

But then I remember that I'm being melodramatic, so I go out and forget about it.

I've been having waking dreams a LOT lately... I had one last night at Sonar, and I had one this morning...

Actually, this morning was kinda funny because I was making some breakfast and I THOUGHT I was talking to my Mom. I mean, I saw her standing there... then the next thing I know, my Dad is walking into the kitchen and asking me who I'm talking to....

I've definately had that happen before. Theres also a stage of sleep....I think its called Hypnogogic stage where you aren't quite asleep yet, and you aren't dreaming, however you get the sensation of falling, so you jerk quickly and wake yourself up because you think that you are falling. Thus the "falling asleep" concept.

my dreams feel every bit as real as reality. I've even channeled them to other people once, and that was scary as shit.

I would say that even with the intensity of some nightmares I've had, I would rather live in that dream than in "real" life... because sometimes it actually feels *more* real than waking life.

I had a dream as a kid where I was in bed trying to go to sleep, all the light in the house were out, and someone in another room got up, walked out to the living room turned on the TV and went back to bed so the TV was on but noone was watching. now, nothing scares me more than things that are weird that I can't explain so I just tensed up and layed there wanting to turn the TV off. A while later someone started grumbling and got up and walked into the living room and changed the channel. This freaked me out even more, why would someone change the channel? what was going on here?. Another short time later someone else started grumbling and got up and changed the channel. This continued on for some time and the intervals of time in which someone got up and changed the channel got shorter and shorter until they were running past each other to change the channel. So, fed up with all the drama I went into the living room to turn off the TV and a monster face came out of the TV and tried to eat me!! I woke up screaming.

more wierdness: I sometimes have dreams where everything happens normal as though it were the next day and I wake up when I go to sleep in the dream. When I wake up I think it's a day later than it is. Weird stuff....

Sometimes I take a nap when I get home, amd wake up two hours later in the evening and thinking its the next day. I ran out of the house at 7 oclock one night, when my sister was walking in. WE both looked at eachother and my sister asked me what the hell I was doing. I told her I was late for school. :slap:

Strange I came on this thread today because I had a nightmere for the first time in a long time last night.

This is kinda gross.

I dreamed I was living in a house in the middle of nowhere. I walked outside ( I think i had friends there too) and there were these pieces of Elephant ( a leg, trunk, side) everywhere with these animals eating them. Dogs, Cats, Deer, Bunnies, no seriously, bunnies). At first the bits of elephant were lying in their own puddles (of water) outside the house, but then the water rose and it's almost as if all these animals were chillin in the ocean still tearing at elephant flesh. It was really graphic.

I don't want to know what that means! yikes. :glcaroline:
