probably was thinking more along the lines of "theory" vice "theology."

El Magnifico

"outlook" works too...but usually outlooks tend to be more upbeat, no?

Jet Pilot
2003-12-27, 09:48 PM
so what do you think i should use?

El Magnifico
2003-12-27, 09:53 PM
I'd use, "philosophy."

I'd use a better cliche to call your own outlook on life....

Life is like highway driving, sometimes there is a back up, sometimes its free and clear, and sometimes you get shat on by a pigon.

my thought for the evening:

if you are going to buy a 6' X 6 yard roll of canvas and not use it for a year, make sure it is NOT ALREADY ACRYLIC PRIMED. i've broken a sweat and blistered both hands and have only finished one of five canvases. huzzah.

stretching this shit fucking sucks. :ripped:

if it makes you feel better, i spanked myself at best buy today when i bought $200 worth of the wrong fricking RAM for my laptop. karma was gracious enough to allow me to return it without a restocking fee, even though i shredded the packaging.

All I have to say is everything is your own choice, your friends, what you do...what job you have...yes life pretty shitty, but sometimes a better option is sitting right in front of you and your too blind or too shy to take it...so before complaining think about it you know?  If you get upset and complain what have you done, wasted more time you could have used on a better option...This is not to say your shouldn't sometimes think about the past, just dont dwell on it...

More specifically, what does it have to do with the study of god and/or religion?

"oh hey, look at this can of worms just lying around. maybe i'll just open it up to see what's going..."

nutshell: God can imply a purpose (golden rule, God's work, etc) for life, or can imply a Calvinistic view of things (fatalism, to various degrees). so, life sucking can either be penance for the Almighty, or life sucks because it's preordained.

i personally think that events and situation happen because they are supposed to, but getting into predestination is a whole different pot of spiked koolaid. and pay no attention that i'm presbyterian...and calvin founded presbyterianism...that's just...uh...semantics....

HA... a story of my life...

But for the people that know me (which is all of two or three)  I'm a really laid back guy... i mean it takes alot to bother me... some how the philosophy don't cry over spilled milk is always in my head, but for some reason(s) i just feel like i can't get a break from the same shit happening to me no matter how hard i try...eventhough I can't really have the right to be mad... Now i know i'm going to get yelled at, but I'm glad im starting to build up a tolerance to this sort of thing but what are you going to do about it huh?  Turn Morman and move out to Utah??

haha do yourself a favor and don't become mormon...you can't drink soda, or go to clubs.... (used to be one) they are really nice, and they helped our family out a LOT --they're usually rich white people who are required to give 10% of their pay each month to the church....which if you make 100k (like mannnny do) --- is quite a lot. So, but they really help out the "less fortunate" members of the church..but way too strict and way too...long of a church session. I have my own faith and that's that. My body is my temple.
Oh, and about life...I dunno man, there's gotta be a point. But Einstein theorized that if we could use all of our brains we'd be just energy fields...balls of energy. :deathstar:
from that I've made this little theory of trying to only put out positive energy and you know --- know shit will work, and it does. If Einstein is right, we probably do have more control over our lives than we even think.
But yes...life is hard..intense...craziness.
