I have my moods when I want trance...like when I want to be in 1999. Nevertheless, it always makes you feel good =). But techo....yes! Carl Cox please (I know we have continually petitioned for this...)

Tiesto.
Actually Dieslboy was supposed to spin the week Buzz closed. Tiesto was booked for the following month and he did spin at Nation. It just wasn't billed as a Buzz event.

yeah.. Speedy J is only on internet radio these days... DC is definitely void of good techno. Its really sad, a lot of these people like Carl Cox yet past that Techno is non-existent.. Arc hasn't brought him and they bring a good amount of Techno... I am not sure about Tronic since I am a year shy of being able to enter that venue...

Actually, Cubik does need more Techno... but there was a lot of it when Green Velvet was there... So there, you missed good techno.
As far as Trance. I love trance, but Cubik DOES NOT NEED IT. And it will not work there. Nation/Buzz/Cubik is not a very trance-friendly place... Every time I see a good trance dj there, it has not been his best performance and left me unsatisfied.. But seeing the same DJ at other places that are "trance-oriented" worked much better, even if i pretty much hate the place for anything else... weird, i know.

Tiesto.
He did spin at Nation. They kept him booked but not under buzzlife and it was the very last party before they closed. I'd be happy to see him again though.

it was a party right after Buzz was gone from nation. NAtion never closed... And Tiesto's performance at that party was they worst i have ever seen him. and I saw him quite a few times...
Tiesto tallent is in his moody, dreamy, and trancy energy and the energy of his music... It wasn't really there that night... he played mostly progressive trance of much darker theme.. DID NOT FIT HIM AT ALL. And it didn't flow either.... the music and mixing
I left with my friends well before it was over

Speedy J was actually at Tronic a few months ago. It might have been right after the DEMF/Movement festival. I'm not sure cuz I've never been to Tronic, unfortunately (and because most of the year has been a blur to me).

I like Picotto, but for Techno, there is a lot better... sometimes Picotto is one big bassbeat... techno isn't just about a bassline that is so loud the dancefloor is shakin at 7.0 on the richter scale...

I wouldn't say Picotto is one big bass beat. The few cd's he has out are a very eclectic mix of hard tech/ tech-house. Picotto is the shit. While were on the subject of techno though, I believe that a Mistress Barbara return visit is long overdue.

Misstress Barbara is cool... but Christian Smith, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Michael de Hey, Gaetano Parisio, Richard Villalobos, and many more... those are the types of Techno Dj's id like to see... the ones experimenting with the boundaries of Techno pushing the genre forward... one can only cross their fingers and hope!

I'm sure she'll return one day. She probably realizes that the weak turnout at the tunnel was due to the the state of the venue at the time and not the overall DC scene.

I'm with u on Marco Carola. I think it was Boo 7 when I saw him spin and he tore it up. I've never been too impressed with Richie Hawtin though, I don't think he's quite my style.

We most definatley need some more techno, and my fav is of course Brian Zentz. I see him so much here, but everytime I see him I am never disappointed. We however do not need any more Trance, especially Tiesto. :scared:
Stewart Walker at Cubik would be sick.

D-Clash is played at pretty much any major event featuring Techno Dj's in Europe...
