It seems that every time I go to the club I get hungry at some point while I'm there. Would it be possible for the club to offer food, like hot dogs, fries, pizza, etc. ? I mean I would think that would be another way for the club to make money. Maybe put in a kitchen somewhere.

I think getting a street vendor outside would be ideal.. that way you can grab a bite on the way out...
I mean, I have enough to worry about with people spilling drinks on me, much less pizza...

I agree.... getting there early and staying late while drinking and dancing makes a person HUNGRY. Hot dogs would be the bomb. They are easy to make and don't cost much to make. Simple.

We need a Waffle House in DC period. They did used to have pizza there but I don't think that's going on anymore. I know the Edge used to have food that was nice. I rarely get hungry at the club usually just when I get home after drinking. I don't eat before going out eating then dancing don't mix with me I have a weak stomach.

back in the buzz days there were talks about re-opening the kitchen (yes, it used to be open years ago.) i think it's a great idea, but we would need a smoke free room... and how about a BBQ on the patio in the summer?
i always get hungry when i drink... well, that or horny, and i'm def not going to have sex at a club.

We were actually talking about this at Cubik this past Friday... I was starving before I played and I WAS SOOO HUNGRY. All I wanted was a bite of some greasy pizza or something.
How hard is it to have a small oven and some dude swapping frozen pizzas out of it all night?
I say add some food Mr. Boyles.

You know Edge did have some good food. I only ate there once, but i remember it being pretty good. just seems weird..food at a club ?
you go there to drink, not eat.
Anyone else remember Trax where they had Mark Farina spinning on the patio and they were selling hot dogs and hamburgers?

Edge food is awesome.
But if you go there and set up a promotional table, don't try to be a high-roller and order the shrimp.
It's fried.. but.. well,
that was one of the worst clubbing mistakes ever.

I think the reason why it didn't seem weird at Tracks and the Edge was because there was an outside area with benches. It's a bit more comfortable to chow down outside that inside a dark club IMO. I felt fine getting some fries or whatever there but I don't see myself doing it at Nation.

See now Tracks used to have a kitchen and that worked out ok... at least until they opened the grill outside then there would be smoke wafting into the club. I think as long as you were only flash-frying things, it would be ok.
Also nachos... I think if you can cook some small things at a Movie Theater or even the 9:30 club, then Nation could do something... The other thing is "should" they do it... I think itz more than likely the club would become even more grubby really fast.
merkurboy
2003-12-15, 04:26 PM
i dont know i just don't see eating at Nation as the "thing to do." For some reason I found it more acceptable at Edge. Don't they sell food at Nation in the main room there used to be a spinning pizza thingy right next to the steps that go up to what used to be the 21+lounge entrance?

I tried selling meat from thje back of a truck in Atlanta. Not very lucritive, for me anyway. Country Fed Meat....*shudders*....every steak looked exactly the same. Same size, shape, color.

Although I haven't met you in person, I've seen from your pic that it DOES really work. You could even be the spokesperson! Can I get in on the profits since I witnessed the creation of this soon-to-take-over-the-world-for-a-year-or-so diet fad?

They used to sell candy, but I guess that didn't make since when they stopped letting you bring candy into the club. . . if Nation sold a hot dog, I think it would cost about $3, but I guess if you're that hungry, you'll pay $3 for a hot dog.
