In the past couple of years, comic book movies have made a huge impact on the mainstream movie audience. After several successful films from Marvel, now Dark Horse is getting into the fray. This movie looks really badass. Check out the trailer:

The storyline sounds cheesy as fuck. A boy from hell with Dr whoever fighting evil? Come on now …

It's a superhero story! And a damn cool one at the, which goes deeper than just a boy from hell fighting evil. As shown in the trailer, he's a member of the BPRD (Bureau of Paranormal Research and Development)- a team of superhumans and mutants who keep the darker elements in the world on check.

When you take a look at it from a broad perspective, sure it's good vs evil... just like 90% of the stopries out there. Mike Mignolia has been highly praised for his writing and stories with Hellboy... which is widely considered one of the strongest continual comics out there. Don't judge before you see or read it. I know Hellboy, like Hellboy, and the trailers looks like it's going to do it justice.

i was really excited about this until i watched the trailer. the makeup and effects look subpar IMO. I thought Ron Perlman would be a great hellboy, but his makeup makes him look real goofy. Del Toro made a masterpiece with Blade 2 however, so I'll prolly still trust in him and see this flick.

the preview in the theater that I saw looked cool, but, I gotta agree ... dude's makeup looks odd or badly designed or something. he looks much more fake than other things in the movie that have far more unorthodox forms. :shrug:

i wanted to see it in the theater and never made it... havent rented it yet..

i was at reverb in va beach last friday, and in the back room they had it playing.
drum and bass being spun while you watch Hellboy is pretty damn cool, i must say
