Extras Needed!!!

Aight I dont have many details but theres suppose to b sum type of movie shoot at Nation and they need extras for a party scene dont shoot the messager I'm just posting it for her!!!

DEC 1ST
Time: anytime between 7am-7pm, mainly 1pm-4pm
Location: Nations in DC
Wardrobe: party/club clothes

It's very likely an indie film, in which case there is no money involved. All "real" movies go thru SAG (Screen Actors Guild) which set very strict rules on extras and how much they are paid. All "real" movies require that at least 10% of the extras are SAG members, the other 90% can be non-sag.

Here is a list of "real" movies filming in the area that need paid extras as of November:

LIVING THE LIE – Independent This low budget feature film recently filming in Richmond, VA. Central Casting handled all local principal and extra casting.

BEAUTY SHOP – Independent Is a low budget feature film that recently finished filming in Baltimore.

A DIRTY SHAME – Independent John Waters’ new film finished filming in Baltimore in early November. Pat Moran is handled all principal and background casting and we had more than 50 principal roles cast locally!

MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE – Paramount Filmed in the DC area for a few days beginning this month. Carlyn Davis’ office handled all local casting.

K STREET – HBO Continues shooting in Washington, D.C. through the end of November. Carlyn Davis is handling all local principal and background casting. This is an AFTRA program. Anyone who has not submitted already who would like to be considered may send a headshot and resume to Carlyn Davis Casting and Production Services, 207 Park Avenue, Suite B6, Falls Church, VA 22046

SOMETHING THE LORD MADE – HBO Will begin filming in Baltimore in early December, will break for the holidays and will resume on January 5 for approximately 4 weeks. Pat Moran & Associates is handling all local principal and background casting. If you haven't submitted in the last six months and would like to be considered, you may send a headshot and resume to Pat Moran & Associates, c/o The Broom Factory, 1301 S. Baylis Street, Suite 425, Baltimore, MD 21224. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE. (They will also be provided with a new registration packet for this project and they use this list faithfully!)

THE WIRE- The Wire Productions, Inc. This HBO series has been renewed for another season and will begin sometime in February and will film until some time in July. Pat Moran will again handle all local casting, both principal and background.

MISCELLANEOUS – We continue to get occasional DC “visits” from The West Wing, The District, NCIS, Lyon’s Den and others. Often the office is not advised in advance of these second unit shoots so if you are called for work on any of these TV series, please call the office and let someone in freelance know! Non-sag extras make about $100 a day, and a "day" can be anywhere from 1 hour to 20 hours lol..extras are like sheep, they herd you into what they call "the holding area" and you stand around and pick your nose for 10 hours until they call you for a scene that will appear on film for 37 seconds, but takes 5 hours to shoot.

Extra's Casting... HBO's "K Street"

Carlyn Davis is currently casting AFTRA extras for HBO's "K Street", produced by George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh.

Extras need to be AFTRA (pay is scale-$90) and should be available to work anywhere from the beginning of September, until mid November.

They are looking for all types, particularly Corporate types and folks on the street. (vendors, business types, tourists, diner patrons,drivers, etc.)

i'd be that one extra in the crowd doing something utterly ridiculous so as to be seen in teh crowd.

The golden rule of extraing:

"Young child, do not do something wild and crazy when cameras are rolling, for the etra who stands out gets cut out"

hehe..extras are otherwise known as "background"..if any extra draws too much attwntion to themselves they will either be booted from set, or their scene cut.

they were filiming a movie in the streets of nyc, infront of that CBGB place. someoen ruined a fight scene by screaming "kick his ass!" or something like that
