pawnshops rip you off unless they have no idea what something is, like my "Casio" MIDI guitar which I bought for $140, when it really worth more like $500 :OD

I usually hit eBay when I'm looking for the best deal. Shop around, hit PrePal.com and figure out what the average going price is for something, and then make an informed purchase.
