I am not exactly an extrovert; but i find it exuberating to do whatever I want and just let it all out when the light is off and the laser strobe is on. It's the only time I can be myself, OR another person if I choose so. If I have to care about my "image" a big chunk of joy would be absolutely rubbed away from me; I won't allow that kind of b.s.

however i will add that there are many things that lead to getting an impression of someone... not all of which involve talking to them or learning of their personality.

i read a lot about people by the way they dance. if i see someone who can breakdance or pop and lock very well, i know right then that they have been dancing for quite a while, probably longer than i, and they know what they are doing in a club or rave.... not a newbie, and not to be treated as one.

on the other hand, if i see someone whose dancing is not formed along the traditionally "rave" lines, i.e. liquid, pop/lock, etc... even if they have a sense of rhythm and their movements aren't erratic, i know that they are probably not a raver, therefore i am less likely to have anything in common with them and less likely to talk to them.... although i will acknowlege that i know a good number of people who are new in the scene who can't dance worth a damn yet are still "ravers" and i get along with quite nicely....

someone who booty dances to jungle, however, pretty much gives me the impression that they have no idea where they are, what they are doing on the dancefloor, and are pretty much just there because someone brought them there and bought them a bunch of booze......

I personally don't think it matters if someone is out there for the first time, been dancing for a year or is the first dancer ever. I'll pretty well treat them the same. There's nothing wrong with liking the way someone dances and complimenting them on it, but I'm not going to segregate my friends into "worthwhile dancers" and "unwashed masses"..

I was horribly afraid to dance for the first year that I was going out..mainly because the people I went out with made fun of all the people that weren't perfect examples of what dancers should be. Eventually I just stopped caring. I'm still not that great of a dancer, I just jam out and so whatever I want. I did run into one of my old friends that made fun of everyone on the dancefloor one night...I kicked his ass in a little 'battle' we had.

I don't pop, I don't lock, I don't break and I don't mess with liquid. It's not me, and I don't think that I should have to conform to a certain discipline of dancing to be considered a non-newbie.

If anyone knows about being a bad dancer it's me. When I went to my first party a year ago I stared at this guy all night because I have never seen anyone move like that. I made it harder on myself by dating him. I would never dance around him because he makes everyone look bad. Well now that he's in the Air Force and I've been partying with my friends I've gotten so much better at dancing. I'm almost at the point where I would dance in front of him now. The one thing I have noticed is that being able to dance to edm makes you a much better booty dancer. As for girls who grind on each other in cages wearing next to nothing and the guys that stand there drooling trying to look up their ass shorts, go to a strip club.
