Im all about the big leftover sandwich the next day.
Wickity
2003-11-24, 02:51 AM
Fucking right... *pumps fist*
Turkey sandwich... a little mayo.. pepper is needed, and for the truly brave of stomach, a little stuffing *or* cranberry sauce... Or both.. :yum:
And, I only saw one mention of cranberry sauce so far, I love it, but most people seem to kind of hate it.. what's that about?
The Drifter
2003-11-24, 02:58 AM
Shit man I use every thing, turkey, krout, cranberry, stuffing, s&p, gravy, and any thing else that will fit betwwen two pices of bread.
Wickity
2003-11-24, 03:01 AM
 gravy..
I mean, it sounds like a good idea, but it just destroys the bread... You're really making a leftover sandwich salad at that point..
Hmmmm, maybe I'll have to try just that... :tarvis:

White meat, with salt and pepper all over it. Then covered in graby. :yummy:
My family gets violent over fighting for the skin too. I'll be getting there early on Thursday to ensure my chunk of crispy skin. :D

Cook it 3/4 of the time upside down, then flip it over for the last 1/4 of time. Seriously.

Watch the Food Network this week-- they have tons of shows on about only Thanksgiving food and how to cook the perfect meal and fix things if anything goes wrong.
I will warn you though... Last year my sister and I did all the cooking for Thanksgiving and we were so tired we couldn't even eat until after we'd napped.

In college, another guy and I cooked 56 lbs of turkey for all the NROTC folks (mostly Marine NROTC) folks that were staying around. It came out real good. I forgot what we did though. I just remember to cook it breast down so that the juices soak into it.

I've been doing it for years.
dude, if you are gonna fry the turkey make sure to inject it wil marinade first. you will LOVE it. go to a kitchen place and get a big ol' plastic syringe and make a yummy marinade. poke the bird *snicker* as many places as you can (be sure to get the joints i.e. wings, breasts, legs) and let it soak for a day before frying..... My mom makes me do this for our turkey on t-day almost every year.
ps: i don't eat turkey. i will only taste it...but i am a mashed potato girl. i eat them in 2lb. servings!!!!!

I honestly dont want to eat thanksgiving with my best friend cuz he and his shithead brother will try to lay some bitchass BS claim on the turkeylegs. I am gonna be stuck with crap-ass dry white turkey meat. I kinda want to get my own turkey and bring it and if they touch one of its legs I will smash their hands with a big hammer.
popeye's is sellin whole spicy turkeys. :wtf: and/or

A bunch of places do that! You can pick up a turkey of whatever size and all the sides you want. I think the country club is doing it again this year, it's the coolest idea if you don't want to cook. Although, it seems weird to eat something other than homecooked food on Thanksgiving.
the country club or the country kitchen?

Club, but tons of restaurants do it. Actually, I think there might be something on the news about it tonight.... They were going to taste test the different places doing take out turkeys etc.
