Online shopping is pretty unpredictable sometimes.

A friend ordered the new Tori Amos CD for me from one of those online shopping giants. When I got home on tuesday, there was this huge box from them, entirely too large for a CD. When I opened it up, there was the new Lord of The Rings Two Towers box set with a Gollum figurine. Thats worth like$60 where as the CD is worth about $15. I already went out and bought the CD. Do I tell them?

what does the invoice say? and did your friend get charged $15 or $60?

The invoice says "Tori Amos- Tales of a Librarian"

no prices b/c it was a gift but he says he paid the price of the CD.

I would drop them an email, but say you don't care, as you'd rather have LOTR. They won't care either. Simple mistake.

yes, it will end up costing them more to have to pay for shipping to retrieve their item and then ship you the Tori CD you were originally supposed to get

Never look a gift horse in the mouth. In other words, keep it.

see thats what i thought but i never had this experience before so I wasnt sure and I am not gonna pay for return shipping, that would be their department.

When I got my laptop, Dell shipped me two printers instead of one. So I called them and told them they could have it back and they said they would send a label and etc with Airborne Express... But label and AE never showed, so I gave the extra printer to my friend Jess. It doesn't hurt to call and let them know. I'm sure they will end up just telling you to keep it.

Yes! I don't know how they screwed it up, but they never called back... I did my part! I was honest!

You should definitely call to let them know, some poor LOTR fan is probably staring at your Tori cd right now thinking WTF!?!

I would just keep it. Call and tell them if you want, but it won't make a difference. It was their mistake that you were sent that in the first place --- which means you are under no obligation to do anything. You could play frisbee with the DVDs and let the dog eat the figurine if you were so inclined (though if you do that I will personally come over there and whup ass). They're going to absorb the cost for their slip-up and you've just won yourself a really awesome toy and DVD set!

chalk it up to luck, I guess. LUCKY!

IN RESPONSE TO ALL

A.J.- Amazon

Shlitz- I would have to agree with you there...

PunkAssChick- Pretty good, dont like the new rendition of Sweet Dreams. While there are a few new songs, most of the stuff is available on other albums so unless you're a hardcore fan or you wanna see the DVD, dont bother...

Webslinger- too late, my b/f already claimed it as his own.
