Buzz started at The Eastside Club. Which is now known as The Abyss. But I think they shut down the abyss last year.

back then the only people I knew or even thought about while I was there were the people I would go there with. At the time I was soooo overwhelmed by the audio and visual display that took place that I was oblivious to damn near anything or anyone.... Like a kid in a candy store.

There used to be a guy on the scene named Mr. Clean, that threw parties. He actually threw alot of the detergent parties.
Strictly underground stit. No permits.
One of his parties was in an unfinished Parking garage.
4 or 5 stories underground free party. Generators in the middle of Bethesda. The police never showed, you could not even here the music from the surface.
Hell, I was at the first big Fox news rave bust on Kenelworth ave. As frankie bonez went on. The fire department shut down the power to the building. The vibe was so intense that lights out, music stopped. Poeple started a beat by stomping their feet, and the party continued until we were forced out of the building.

That's fucking awsome. I had the best time's partying in '98... I think it's a combination of the time and the fact it was all new to me. Wish I started in '92 or so though.
My fave and most underground(ish) parties were in Towson/Baltimore. Crazy crazy times.

I've been going since 96-97 way-way back but even before then, I was in the scene in the SE (GA, Carolinas, FL). Back then the scene was crazy small and everybody in the SE was a tight knit group of peeps. In anycase, the stories of Fever and Buzz were famous and when I moved up here permanently in 97 I knew I had found my home :breakdance:

The area that I grew up in just didn't have anyone to pull me into the scene. I was hardcore about house parties and alternative/rock type music was getting old and redundent to me, if someone had pulled me...I would have started partying way younger.

My first time at Buzz was back in July of 2001.
I would have started going before that but, back in 2000/most of 2001 Buzz was 19+ and I didn't turn 19 til June of 2001. I think they changed the age down to 18 LESS THAN A MONTH before I turned 19 anyway. Cause that is just how things go :lame:
But yeah, and my first night there was amazing. Remains to be one of my best nights at Buzz and I used to go on a weekly basis for a long time. I was fortunate enough to be at the last buzz last year in September before it got shut down. At least the last memory of that last night of Buzz (before getting shut down) was Scott Henry bit-o-honey on the patio. I can't imagine a better last moment before saying goodbye (and luckily goodbye only lasted 1 year ;) )
But thank goodness it's back :raveon:

i don't think i was mentally ready to rave when i was 12.
i might have gotten into really bad things.

i just don't think @ 13 you have the mental maturity to make smart decisions about certain things
who knows though....i know someone who started raving at like 13, that never did "bad thingS"

I def don't think raving it up at 13 is a good thing.
I really really wish I went to Sunday Mass and Wilmers back then... I was in school and trying to be all *good* n stuff so I never went :(
