......what an odd nite, but turned out great. After heading only 30min from my house to a party (instead of 3hrs to DC for a change) we came to the scope only to see signs for GSP nov. 15 AND Norfolk Admirals nov. 15 @ the scope, so things were confusing. So after arriving at the scope we found people walking out at the end of the hockey game around 10pm and were VERY confused, b/c i had no idea that the scope had a basement. but we finally found it. My woman kept saying, "are we partying in the storage closet tonite?"
The venue was bigger than i expected from the look on the outside. Reminded me of raves back in the day. Saw some good twirlers and breakdancers. Scott Henry played an amazing set (as usual) for what i saw of it. Beer was unexplainably high priced for a party like this, i dont care what corporate sponsors were involved. Feelgood's set was funky and fun and had us dancing. A little too funky for my taste but he brings alot of energy. I especially liked the track where telephone button sounds were sampled and at the end it sounded like a modem connecting. How proper for our generation of music listeners. I kept laughing thinking of how funny it would be if a DJ had his 1 and 2s and then a phone hooked up next to it to sample that on the spot. Anyone know the name of that track/artist?
All in all a good time. MC said it was a "success" at the end, but then concluded by saying they would have to find an alternate venue for pt. 2. Surprisingly i ran into an old friend from highschool and he said that he had heard all 6 or 7 GSP were gonna be at the scope. weird.
what's w/ turning the lights on and stopping 10min early on a party that only lasts till 2am? and those harsh, harsh stale lights all at once.....c'mon now.
