From a recent court decision in New Hampshire
http://www.courts.state.nh.us/supreme/opinions/2003/blanc150.htm
"We reject the petitioner’s argument that an interpretation of adultery that excludes homosexual conduct subjects homosexuals and heterosexuals to unequal treatment, "contrary to New Hampshire’s public policy of equality and prohibition of discrimination based on sex and sexual orientation." Homosexuals and heterosexuals engaging in the same acts are treated the same because our interpretation of the term "adultery" excludes all non-coital sex acts, whether between persons of the same or opposite gender."

Well this certainly is good news for bi-sexuals everywhere. The way I understand it, the only way it can be considered cheating is through penetration. But try telling that to you significant other...

From the dissenting opinion:New Hampshire permits both fault-based and no-fault divorces. No-fault divorces are governed by RSA 458:7-a (Supp. 2002), which permits divorce "irrespective of the fault of either party, on the ground of irreconcilable differences which have caused the irremediable breakdown of the marriage." RSA 458:7 (Supp. 2002) governs fault-based divorce. Unlike no-fault divorces, a fault-based divorce presumes that there is an innocent and a guilty spouse, and permits divorce "in favor of the innocent party" for any of nine possible causes, including impotency, adultery, extreme cruelty, felony conviction for which a party has been imprisoned, habitual drunkenness, and abandonment. RSA 458:7, I-IV, VII, IX.

In these days of polygamous relationship, free love and relaxed lifestyles, isn't it just so refreshing to see that a brother can now eat some bush with out getting in trouble?

I don't know... maybe I have been in the scene so long that my idea of a committed relationship is way off... I got very used to walking around Buzz and seeing my signifigant other sucking face with some random chick... We ended up with the *if it happens in a party situation, it doesn't count* agreement...

Gee... if your girl gave some other guy a bj, I'd definitely count that as cheating. Being drunk, etc., is no excuse either, I drink a lot (well, I used to) and I've never cheated on anyone, nor had any desire to.

:werd: I'm not going to be with someone if I don't like them enough not to need sex from someone else, oral or whatever. If I do find myself wanting someone else while I'm with someone, then I'm going to evaluate my relationship, and try and figure out why I'm looking elsewhere. After that if I'm still wanting to be with someone else then I would end the relationship I was in first.

wow... i could never agree to that... it's still cheating and i've had that happen to me before and i was highly upset.... it was also followed by 5 huge long island iced teas.... the drink that numbs me

Indeed.
Making out is cheating. Period. Perhaps not as severe as sleeping with someone, but still dump-worthy. In the case that you make out with someone and your significant other finds out, and doesn't dump you... either he's cheating too, or you've got someone worth holding on to.
..I think.

 i think the general rule of thumb is: if you'd get upset over your sig. other doing it, then it's cheating and you shouldn't do it either.

Everyone cheats, it's a dog eat dog world, if you say "well I'd never cheat, or I don't" chances are your sig other is.

It's not true that everyone cheats. SOme people DO actually have morals and standards. I personally wouldn't be with anyone if I weren't going to be exclusive with them. If they weren't the only person I wanted to be with then then they wouldn't be my boyfriend. A significant other isn't significant if they're not the only one. That's all there is to it.
SexySarah
2003-11-17, 11:07 PM
ANd none of this "eatin ain't cheatin" bullshit. A small a gesture as holding hands with someone could be considered cheating because of it's possible intimacy. Atleast that's what I think.

I totally agree with SexySarah.
My stomach just turns over the thought of being with someone & it being meaningless.
I'm sure there has got to be someone else on here that has heard the saying:
Your past is your present. (Every person you sleep with or fool around with is brought into your "now" realtionship.)

I agree with Sexy, I wouldn't want a girl/guy I was dating to do anything sexual with someone else, it's just wrong.
